ISO: Nice 57-58cm lugged frame.
Early 80's would be preferable but not picky. The catch: would like it to be broken or bent. I have some experience with a torch and would at some point like to get into frame building. This would be nice practice. So if you wrecked something or found a crack in a tube or whatever, Id like to set it on fire, then ride.
Thanks

It has a bent fork, top and down tube. Crashed into a curb by a friend.

Have: Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub (not the red-band model) laced into a 700c Weinmann Zac rim w/ SS spokes. I bought this wheel new, ran it for less than 100 miles, built a 7-speed wheel for my Trek commuter, so this one can go. I'll include grip shifter and cable. I can also include a hub-bub adapter for running the shifter on a drop bar end.
Want: A French frameset in 58-60cm size, something with spread out geometry. Reynolds tubing (or at least 3 main tubes) would be a plus.

Have: New Shimano R650 Standard (long-reach) caliper brakes, 47-57 mm reach.
Want: Shimano R550 cantilever brakes, or equivalent high-quality cantis like Paul's Touring model.
I bought the Shimano long-reach brakes a while ago anticipating a build for a new commuter bike, but the frame I ended up getting requires canti brakes. Hence my desire to swap (or sell) the R650s. Send me a PM if interested. The Shimano long-reach brakes are perfect for many older frames or new models like the Soma Smoothie, Salsa Casseroll or Rivendell Bleriot that are designed to handle larger tires and fenders.
