Viceroy Bike..any Info?
so im standing outside trying to decide what color to powdercoat my floval flyer when i notice my nephew coming down the street..walking a small bike. he gets closer and i see that he has with him a really cool looking 18" girls bike with the name "viceroy" on it. it looks pretty vintage with its chrome fenders..wide white-wall tires and rear rack behind the seat for tying down "stuff" i guess..hehe. the color on this thing is beautiful. its like a very mellow tangerine. id say i'ts from maybe the late 70's. there is a small sticker on the seat post tube that reads "VICEROY CYCLES POOLE. Made in Italy. This bike conforms to BS-6102"..whatever that means. i'd never heard of the company so i decided to google it..i got nothing. then i checked ebay to see if anyone had one for sale..again nothing. so i've come to you now in the hopes that maybe someone can give me a little info on the bike. any info at all would be great. (sorry for the poor quality of the pic..i had to use my webcam cause my digital camera is nowhere to be found.)

Well you have waited along time for a response and strangely I have been asking a similar question about a bike I have just aquired mine is a 10 speed road bike of 70s vintage which I got via freecycle
I think that Viceroy are/were a wholesaler of bikes and it looks as though they imported bikes from Europe and the branded them as Viceroy
My completely different bike has the same stickers as the ones on as the ones on the bike your nephew had
My bike has made in Belgium on the frame
I think the company may still be operating as I found this
Cycle Supplies Wholesalers
Viceroy Cycles
Unit 11, Newtown Industrial Estate, Ringwood Road, Poole, BH12 3LL
01202 748674
Hope that helps

Hello redandshane. thanks for replying to my thread. I haven't gotten any more info on the bike than you have. Just the address and number. I even posted in a bicycle forums from the UK and still had no luck. I saw the bike in a movie that was made in the UK...so I thought maybe it was a common bike there and I would get some info from someone that lives there...but nope. I cleaned up the bike and it looks really nice now.
I figured the address was maybe the place where they are made and distributed to vendors from there. I do find it odd that I cannot find any vendors when i googled it.
