EBH, nice pics. I can almost read the signs too! Let's see, "fjord crossing" and "Parking forbidden due to blathering", and something about TV towers overhead but I have no idea what that has to do with omelets.

"No parking for boat trailers"
"Area has TV surveilance"
"Fjordgata" = Fjord street

I met up with some friends in Snohomish this morning for an easy spin on the Centennial Trail. Snohomish was really hop'n this morning. Streets were being barricaded and we found out from some locals they were celebrating "Ground Frogs Day" but it may have also been related to the distillery fest also being hosted today. We saddled up after breakfast.

There were 4 "new" bikes on this ride today between the 5 of us.
I was riding my Singer

Friends Bruce and D had new Rodriguez S&S coupled UTB's

And Bob Freeman was on the inaugural ride of a new Kevin Sayles he'd just put together the day before

Not suprising, Bob's wife Deanna was riding a beautiful Davidson.

We stopped for lunch in Arlington at the Bluebird Cafe before returning to Snohomish for post ride pie.

Even though it was foggy and cold all day we had fun an enjoyed each other's company.

^ Great pics - nice to see you got to get out on a ride with Bob and Deanna Freeman! Did you hit up Alex or was he busy that day?

I miss the PNW - I'd have been up for this ride in a NY minute - you all even hit up the Blue Bird Cafe

Thanks for the memories, Matt....

I'd love to see that actually.

When I was kid growing up in Brooklyn NY, it was very industrialized. I loved going down to the piers and watching the ships, trucks, derricks and cranes working by the smelting plants, or the Domino Sugar factory, the Schaefer Brewery or the Pepsi plant, and watching the freight trains going right down the streets dropping off rail cars. It was exciting to me, and early on I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Well, Brooklyn has changed alot and sadly, we no longer build anything here anymore. Nothing but hipsters in coffee shops living in condo's now. Very sterile, bland and boring. God only knows how they make a living!

I didn't think to invite Alex. The only contact I have with him is thru this forum. You made me smile when you said you miss the PNW. Awww, it sounds the Dude's a little homesick .

Wow northbend, stunning group of bikes there.

Rode about 25 miles this morning. No better way to greet the day than while pedaling.

Hey, I remember that Domino Sugar factory off the East River! I can see its neon lights crossing the Williamsburg Bridge. Then it was shuttered, and remember seeing it up close as it was demolished. The original 5-Boro Bike Tour route took us right passed the factory circa '81. Huge tanks and pipes were visible.

Very nice bike and nice pics
Thanks EBH. It's great to see pictures from Norway. Keep them coming!

He's a nice guy too. If you get a chance to ride with him, do it.
Thanks Jim, that means a lot coming from the front man of Southern Rail.

I managed 36.62 miles today on the De Rosa. 30 degrees, sunny and clear, light wind.

I was passed by some shop racer on a climb, but I caught his wheel and drafted him for 10 miles. We were flying!

I think the backdrop for my ride today was a little less picturesque than that enjoyed by some other members here :

Nice CIOCC . Has CIOCC got anything to do with Cinelli?

A quick 52 Mile loop yesterday. Stiff headwinds for the first two thirds, and crosswinds for the rest. Another Pleasant Valley Sunday.

Well actually, the Domino plant is still there all boarded up and shuttered. But everything around it has been demolished to make hipster condo's and coffee shops. It's a pretty sad sight. The plant is really one of the last industrial buildings left on the river these days, everything is condo's now, very expensive ones! The plant will be gone soon to. Yeah, you guessed it - more condo's! I bike the East River now and then. It's actually a very nice ride with fantastic views of Manhattan.

Brooklyn ain't the Brooklyn you remember my friend!

Great riding weather in the Dallas, TX area with lots of sunshine & temps in 60's and low 70's over the weekend so I got in 95 miles of riding over Sat. & Sun. In other words pretty perfect.
I stopped and took pics along the way around White Rock Lake and the Fair Park area where the State Fair is held in the fall.
Then circle through the downtown area and back to the northern part of the city.
Lots of people had the same idea to take advantage of the great weather in the middle of winter.
That's my 1981 Nishiki Professional I rode for the Saturday ride.

It's cold and windy here!

I still got out today to two meetings. Each one was a mile away. I wore a ton of clothes. Being all bundled up was uncomfortable in that it made me stiff. But I was bundled enough not to get cold. Yay! It was nice to be on a bike today, even though my total is about four miles for today.

Tomorrow, I'll have to take a train and then ride my bike to the garage where my wife's car is being repaired, so I'll be riding about four miles again. That's just about right for this weather.

I think it is one of those Brooks Editions they do every now n then. This one has has a pattern of a 3/4 view cyclist riding away superimposed on a map of some sort. The engraving says "World Traveler". I had to give him a little grief about it as the rider looks like he's wearing a thong instead riding shorts but hey, Bob's the one who has to ride it not me so to each his own! We all urged him to get some patina on that thing as quickly as possible.
