I completed the birthday ride today. Spaced the camera, of course, but no big loss; my photographic skills are on par with my painting skills. The arts and I just don't see eye to eye. Nice to get back out there.

Great! I was bummed to read that you hadn't been out for month. It's great to read that you are "out there" again. Now, pics or it didn't happen.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Went to the beach last night... with our summer sun this was taken at 9pm.
The only vintage rides were my friend's Peugeot and GT, my friend and I rode the fatbikes which saved a lot of walking.

Mt. Rainer with Bob, Deanna and some of Bob's longtime friends. Just a couple pics for now.
The mountain was definitely "out" today - weather was perfect!

I did a 40-mile 'mini-alpine' loop today around Blowing Rock and Boone, NC. Lots of climbing/descending on a mix of secondary and dirt roads, with a long stretch of the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. My trusty '85 Miyata Two-Ten provided a wonderful ride. I was amazed that I did not see a single other cyclist the whole time; it was such a gorgeous day.

Commuting today. It's a nice easy ride in the morning, but a bit of a wind in your face uphill grind in over 100 degrees heat blast home. Why do I live here, again?

Ah, Oklahoma. Come for the blistering heat; stay for earthquakes and poisoned groundwater.

I would certainly like to see more of your rides. Looks quite pleasant and enjoyable, especially when you can get coastal and country scenery in the same outing.

Dang if I didn't have the photo op today! I do have a cheapo sport vid recorder but rarely use or mount on the older bikes. Someday need to get that new mini GoPro. Anyways, maybe less than 20 ft. from me, a stealth hawk swiftly snagged a RAT from the grassy road shoulder! Fantastic site, then just less 30 ft. up a tree perched with one talon and had the rat in the other. Not a mouse.... but a fat looking rat!
Anyways, some fire clouds from this evening. Orange Kubota, orange bike, orange drink... whateva

I went mtn biking in Helena, MT. Never rode such a low gear I'm my life, and wanting a lower one. Craxy.

That color of the Ellis is really nice. I found an Osell that's a similar color in my size that I'm trying to not think about.
Here's a pic from yesterday's ride (been posting more of my recent hill rides in the Dairlyland Dare related thread), but felt the need to cross post this beautiful gravel ride.
It's the heart of the riding season, and it shows with all the great rides on this thread. At least for us northern hemisphere inhabitants...

Lisa (AKA The Wife) wanted to try the Gateway Trail between St Paul and Stillwater. Since it was 90+F; we hopped the train between Minneapolis and St Paul to cool off and save some energy. Lisa really didn't like the Gateway trail, it is in need of resurfacing and there is no good connection from the train (state capitol) to the trail head. Truthful, I think the heat was getting to her. We didn't get far on the trail before turning back around to the train.

Decided to take a longish ride today to the river just to relax and see how the new tube held up. Everything went smashing, and I got some pictures as well instead of posting a ton in a post, I figured imgur would be easier.

I just rode my commute again today. Here's a pic of one of the nice neighborhoods I rode through on the way home.
The ride in this morning qualifies for Chapter 37 in my planned Every Day's An Adventure book. After bombing down a hill and passing a school I came up to a stoplight and saw this on the pavement. This is even better than the steak knife on the road's shoulder that I encountered a few weeks ago. Fortunately I did not hit it with my wheel.
I didn't want to leave it there. I didn't want to pick it up either, and there were no readily available "medical waste disposal" buckets around. I finally called the Woburn police and explained it to them. The guy asked for a precise location and said he'd send somebody around to take care of it, that I needn't wait if I was on my way to work. So I rode on...

Lunch ride in some pretty stiff winds today. 2nd ride on the 979 and I have to say once I have the stem length figured out this may end up being my new favorite ride. The new Continental Sprinters didn't hurt either.

I had a nice ride on some gravel today.
A few locals were out but they weren't riding.

Some really nice scenery. Thanks.
I rode the Raleigh Twenty on some local trails and went "out of bounds" and tried a little off road stuff. Bumpy but fun. It was evening and temerature around 75, slight breeze.....aaaah.
