VR, nice pics as usual. You always manage to match some color on the bike to some color in the scenery. Besides being pics of a fascinating ride they are always nice to look at!

Here in the northeast it wasn't especially blustery but it was cool, temps in the lower 40's mostly. We did 47.7 miles on the tandem, a typical ride out into the more rural 'burbs for lunch and a stop at TJ's for some veggies and frozen berries on the return.

I rode a couple dozen circles in my garage. We got a dumping of snow yesterday, and I was jonesing to take a spin on the 'free' Peugeot I painted.
I did a reverse drop bar conversion. But too icey (for me) to get out and take it for a test spin.

This is from the other day, forgive me for being a little late to post. After a weekend of honey-do's, I was able to sneak in a quick 30 miles in the east bay hills before the sun set.

Put my November metric century in the books today with a 70 mile ride around the Twin Cities. The Trek 760 sporting some new to me 7700 hardware worked perfectly. At the same time, went full banana with the tape, seat, and cables.

The new look (sort of like the original colors), need to tip the saddle up a little and the platform pedals are a seasonal thing

G77, nice sunset pic! CM, that Trek looks sharp in those colors. Good choice. How come you don't have snow everywhere after what hit those poor folks in Chicago?

I rode my commute again today. Hard rain last night, temperature about 40F when I left the house this morning, about freezing when I returned. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be about 20F. Yow, I'm not looking forward to it. But the traffic today was absotively posilutely nuts. I'll probably ride tomorrow just so I don't have to join in the nervous energy.

This past Saturday it was cool and very windy in Dallas but I layered up and took out my current fav bike ,
an Nishiki Int'l from 1984 that I rebuilt into a bike that works for me for my urban adventures.

It rides very nicely and is comfortable for me with the bars up high for upright riding.
Your preferences may vary. This is mine.

Currently it is sporting some 650b wheels and Compass tires.

Sunday was the 52nd anniversary of that dark day in Dallas when JFK was struck down.
Every time I ride a route that takes me past that site there are always people checking it out and Saturday was no exception.

I guess it's a site many visitors and area residents want to check out.

Some of the pics are from the 'grassy knoll', some from Dealey Plaza. and some from the triple overpass.

The one by "original restored Pegasus' is in front of the Omni Hotel as are the giant Christmas Balls.

Also there is one with Reunion Station and the Reunion Tower in the background.

This is one of my favorite type rides to leisurely pedal an area and take pics of things that strike me as interesting.
Most of the time there is a bike in the foreground.

I refer to my fall rides as 'Acorn Cruncher' rides. This area has countless oak trees and the acorns are falling to the ground
in abundance. I 'crunch' lots of them on my rides this time of year.
Some streets have 'acorn powder' covering patches of the street where the autos have pulverized the acorns.

Did a quick 25 before the sun went down. THis was a test of the newly installed Compass tires (28mm Chinook Pass). Super sweet!

While messing with the rear wheel, I discovered that this frame easily accepts 130mm hub. Got me thinking, 10 speed Dura Ace downtube shifters are only $54 from Alex Cycles in Japan.......Velomine has those Ultegra/ Open Pro wheels.....this is a dangerous line of thinking for my checking account.

I just did my commute yet again. It was, um, cold this morning, about 26F when I left home, sort of like x-c skiing in deep dark January. Light traffic though, a real treat. Nice ride home.
