Not today, but day before yesterday.
Visiting @Lascauxcaveman 's neck of the woods, went out on a ride that took girlfriend and I out to the mouth of the Elwha River.

Good to see you again, @mikemowbz, you should post a few more pics.
Meanwhile, here's a few Cino Heroica 2016 afterglow shots.
Not today, but just over a week ago, on the way back from Cino we stopped to check out Ancient Lakes (aka) Potholes Coulee, near Quincy, WA. Mostly dead-flat riding less than a mile from the parking lot, they've got several "potholes" lakes carved out by glaciers passing through during the last ice age. Not feeling too frosty when we passed through. This southwestern-desert-looking place is just a couple hours east of soggy Seattle.
A couple pan shots of the good ol' Grandis parked out in the sagebrush under a blistering sun

^Nice shot. I'll excuse the nds photo since it's what the composition of the photo demands. I do love that Grandis of yours.
Went out for a quick 35 miles up & over the East Bay hills, through Tilden Park, along the San Pablo Reservoir and back to Berkeley over Wildcat Canyon. About 3400' climbing. Also got a chance to break in some new shoes (should have brought a screwdriver for some minor adjustments as the cleat placement was just a bit off, but not enough to spoil the ride). A gorgeous day in the low 70s, a light breeze, and barely a cloud in the sky.

A few pics from day-before-yesterday's commute. These folks were out again yesterday. Don't they realize that Thanksgiving is getting closer?
Now something less silly. There is a backstory to this.
Some weeks before we went away on vacation I noticed in this busy intersection what I supposed was a cartridge for a nail gun. It seemed to have fallen from a truck. Well, a week or two later the nails, dozens and dozens of them, were scattered around that portion of the intersection. Since it was on state jurisdiction roads I called the Mass DOT and they eventually connected me with the office responsible for that area. I explained the situation and the guy promised to get a crew out to check on it. Ah, needless to say, a week later the nails had not gone away, just got more scattered and more rusty.
When we returned from vacation and I finally rode my bike to work again (on Tuesday) I noticed they were still there. Who knows how many flat tires have been accomplished there over the last month? So on Wednesay I took a few pics and vowed to call the state again, offering to send them the pics if they didn't believe me. (This pic shows maybe a third of what could be seen from the curb where I wait on my bike for the light to change.)
So early yesterday afternoon I called again, went through the same forwarded-phone-call sequence but got connected to a recording saying "Radio room, please leave a message." Hmm, skeptically I left a message. Then I called the state DOT again and explained to the first person who answered why I was calling again, that the intersection was complicated enough that whoever might "go look" might possibly not see anything. Then I gave explicit instructions where to stand, what would be across each street, etc. The woman promised to follow up on it.
An hour later I got a call from someone at the local office saying those nails had been swept up, were on the island in the intersection, and would soon be picked up. He then gave me his desk phone number and said to call him directly if I ever had any other problem to report. Wow, that was fast, especially after the first phone call got no results for a month. Maybe my second call today rattled the bars of his cage, ya' think? In any case, when I rode home yesterday the intersection was the cleanest I've seen it in the almost three years I've been commuting it.

HbS, nice orange Peugeot, but what happened to the drive-side shot?
We took our tandem, also a Peugeot, out for 37.1 miles today. Cool temps, a lovely day. For some reason traffic got a bit heavy about 1 o'clock.

No pics, no camera but an epic 4 mile ride after the dedication of another mile completed of the Historic Columbia river highway trail/path from Starvation creek towards Wyeth that connects to the other mile from Starvation creek to Viento state park the other way that has been done for a couple of years. This brings the total down to about five miles that has not been restored or is usable, but they are going to break ground to connect to Wyeth soon and plan to be done in 2018. The other way will be a little tougher as I84 took up all the real estate when they built it so they are going to have to literally move a mountain to get this done which they are planning to do one way or another. They are still studying it and working on the $$$. When they finally get this done you will be able to ride 73 miles from Troutdale (about 15 mi. from PDX) to the Dalles without riding on I84 any more through some of the most beautiful land and my favorite place to ride. Google will bring you better pics than I ever could.

Yesterday was Philly Free Streets Day, with MLK Parkway and South Street closed to auto traffic.
So, I took the Grand Record down the Wissahickon Trail.
I got on the trail at Bells Mill Ave., but now realize the trail extends north to North Wales. More trail to explore.
Over Falls Bridge. Planned as a double-decker, the top part was never completed.
View of the Philly Art Museum near boathouse row, from MLK Parkway.
View of the center city skyline, trains, and Motobecane with dropped chain.
She's the hippest street in town (Oh baby). Last time I rode down South Street was on a Suzuki GT550, a lovely Irish lass had her arms around my waist, and the Motobecane was brand new.
Penn's Landing.

Jim Muller, great photos as usual. You are a lucky man
A few shots from my ride a few days age, was to be a group ride but no one was able to make it. I prefer to ride alone anyway!

Ours is an '82, weighs about 40 lbs without the bags so it isn't so far removed from what two good solo bikes would weigh. But my power to weight ratio is higher than my sweetie's and her short (140mm) cranks mean she doesn't put out as much torque. Throw in the harder upperbody work for sttering and balance and, yeah, it is more work.

@HamboneSlim Great PA photos. I love riding in Philly and do so a few times a year but would like to venture out some to see some of the tranquil surrounding areas.

Whew... Yes, I did ride today. I just got back home to a very concerned wife --- "You've been gone for hours, are you crazy?"
35.05 miles in 2 hrs and 20 min, for an avg speed of 15 mph. My legs are tired and my right hip is a little sore, but I had a great time!
Obligatory photos...
The route I did, as per MapMyRide:
Inside the business complex of West Creek Pkwy, stopping off at the duck ponds. In the background is the big VA Farm Bureau building.
Stopped at the sign to the entrance of Carmax's corporate office.
Looped my way around and came back on Shallow Well Rd, which crosses over I-64.
No bicycle ride into the Manakin Sabot area is complete without stopping at Dover Estates (huge mansion) and taking a photo.
I turned around and took a photo of Manakin Rd and the horse farm across the street (people were riding horses in the pasture).
Lastly, I stopped at Patterson Ave & River Rd, to finish drinking my water bottle. I decided to take a photo of the cow pasture and looking west down Patterson Ave.

Hot and windy day in the SF bay area today. It was downright treacherous in the east bay hills as the wind had blown lots of debris and branches down from the trees. I even got hit in the head by a decent-sized branch as it fell (glad to have been wearing my helmet). Made for a nice clear day at least with some good views of the bay. Also had a chance to dial in my recently built Merlin after I added a couple links to a too-short chain, re-laced the rear wheel, and made a couple minor fit tweaks.

Rode over the Lions Gate Bridge to North Vancouver and visited Lonsdale Quay with a friend. Alas potato quality camera with me this weekend:
Looking towards the north shore:
Bikes up high, bikes way down low:
Looking back at Stanley Park:
And out towards downtown (above the front fender you just make out people walking & cycling along the MUP Seawall):
No photos of it, but we stopped to watch a seal wrestling with an octopus for a while in the water down below (seemed the seal came out on top with an octopus-snack)
The sun came out once we got to the Quay, and as we lingered a little too long with our meals we opted to take the lazy Sunday option of a seabus journey back.

excellent pics guys ^^^
I always thought rainbows where up higher in the atmosphere, but this photo out my window shows it touching down before the treeline and about 1000 yards away from me. Getting ready to ride my daily "industrial area" ride where high speed traffic is less of a concern.
