Here's one left over from the 'Facilitation Story' thread, a pic from my ~50 mile roll from Bellingham to Vancouver via Ferndale, Custer, and number of other places Northwest:
More ride pics on that thread, but I won't cross-post here.
EDIT: the mountains were a lot clearer in profile to these two eyes than is recorded in these here pixels...

Ok, so it was only 97 miles but pretty close. Beautiful day here in southern New England. High around 70 and sunny. I rode tri-state ride RI-CT-MA. Harder route than the one I did last October.
Glocester RI
Burrillville RI
Dirt sector on same road.
This was my first time riding this road, which had a nice hard packed dirt section, so I was really excited when I came upon this, but it was only .4 miles long and then became paved again.
Buck Hill towards CT
Lake Webster
Mill in Webster MA on 10.5.11 when I was here last.
Mill in Webster on 4.21.12
The return ride runs along Douglas state forest in MA and Lake Wallum RI, which are quite nice.
There was a steady 15-20mph wind at my back on the way out, but I paid for it on the return. Beat me up. I probably still had 3 miles in the tank, but I was late for dinner and it's just a number.
Those pics of WA are incredible! We just don't have those kinds of vistas here.

Alex Molls' bike looks perfect with those tulips in the background!
I had two rides today. Enjoyed a 50 mile route that took in some of my favorite hills early this morning.
Then later in the afternoon I met up with one of my friends for an MTB training ride.
I learning new skills and this time kept all my skin.
Planning to get up early for a long day in the saddle tomorrow on the Merckx...

Short 17 mile mtb ride today to see how the snow melt was going.
Still ran into some tricky slush and ice on the north side roads. Got dirty, but not as much as I expected.

Dallas,
we did...it was nice out and we took a walk across a swinging bridge and to a railroad tunnel while on a side trip. The trail is the 'Little Toby" rail to trail. Located in Brockway, Pa. It ties together several different R to T. you can get an easy 60 miles in round trip if you tie them all together. None are paved but still quite smooth. It's a nice ride with many side trips that can take you to Clear Creek and Cook Forest State Park and much, much, more. It's a good time.

Awesome little photo journal. Love the type of places you visit. I hit the same types of rides. It's what makes it fun!

More hill work today. This time I rode out to West Seattle with a friend.
I left at sunrise
passed by mt si on my way to meet a friend in snoqualmie
two amigos climbing up th snoqualmie parkway
we met our friends in west seattle and they guided us around. There are some real gems in west seattle. We logged 3000 ft of climbing in west seattle alone!
I found some new backgrounds today
heading home after a post ride pint at the local brewery
we split off in snoqualmie and I took the trail home

I've been away from C&V for some time. Sadly, I've not been riding since my inspired birthday ride in late January. My life has taken an unexpected turn that I never imagined could happen. I am in the midst of a personal crisis and in a legal battle for my life, literally. I will likely have to take a hiatus from my cycling pursuits and time here on this great place called C&V. Just want to say what a great bunch you folks are. The kinship and outreach is priceless.
A special THANK YOU goes out to GlennFordx4 and OFG.
I've been consumed by my crisis these past two months. A housemate of mine gave me some advice to get back to living and build back some form of a life routine. I took his advice to heart, and tried get back in the saddle. Of the cache of bikes I owned, I managed to have with me, my endearing Schwinn Crosscut.
I set out for a few short rides in the rising AZ heat. It was 105 F today. I made a bee line towards Superstition Mtn. along a long, lonely straight slab of tarmac called Lost Dutchman Blvd. Cars were few, horses were crossing the road. I went as far until the paved road ended and turned back. The view of the mountain always stirs me inside. I will try to go further next time, with ample water.

I hope things work out for you WNG.
Sounds like it's tough right now.
No recommendations from me other than stay on the bike when you get a chance.
Always seems to help me when the chips are down.

Yeah, I did. My usual 25mile round trip commute. Raced a shower cloud to the station this afternoon. It caught me briefly about half a mile from Attleboro but it didn't have much to say.
However I'm starting to think it is time to retire an old friend, my '72 UO8. The old saddle is become less friendly to my 63y.o. prostate, but more importantly I've become jaded after commuting on the Bianchi and riding the Masi.

So many times when life throws be some tough times a good bike ride helps me to think, process, and just 'ride away' some of the tension and turmoil.
Interestingly I am in the process of building up a Schwinn Crisscross frame.
Just read about some fellow that if I understand went through 2 of them riding 20,000 plus miles on each and eventually going with a bent.
Here is the link:

Sending up a prayer on your behalf that situation will improve soon.

WNG, hang in there and keep riding if you can. You'll feel better at least.
My only ride today was a mile and half over to Autozone to pick up a lightbulb. We got a ticket in the mail from the Boston police, some officer apparently having noticed a burned-out brake light two days ago. Fortunately the ticket was marked "$0 due, no further action necessary" (except presumably to replace the offending bulb). Grand total about 3 miles by bike.

Today I rode the Masi to work for the first time. The usual 25 mile round trip which I think stretched into about 28 miles. I can't imagine how that happened. The bike did great however. On the other hand, the wind today was headwind in both directions, and very strong.

WNG, keep on keeping on and keep the rubber side up. I had noticed your absence and wondered where you were. It seems some of life's biggest trials almost always help a person to grow. Just try to keep it all in perspective.

Today, I went on a group ride with about 10-12 people who hang out on the CR list. We rode between 60 and 65 miles, starting at the Patapsco State Park and heading into Annapolis, with a stop for lunch at the Middleton Tavern and then returned to the starting point. There were some points on the ride where the wind was brutal, but we all survived it intact, even if a little tired. So far, this is the longest ride I have ever done.

Thank you gentlemen, for the encouragement and support. This past Thursday was a pivotal day. Not knowing an outcome causes more anxiety than being informed of what is inevitable. Now that I have no choice but to put up a fight, I won't take it lying on my back, but to fight to win this. I wish I can explain in detail, but I'm not at liberty as advised by counsel.
What I can say is that I've taken my bike out each day for short rides with increasing miles. We had a rare rain storm past through here and it dropped the temps to wonderfully cool 70-80s F. Was able to put in additional dusk rides. Feels good to be back in the saddle.
This has to be my favorite thread here. Look forward to the great rides and photos to keep me inspired.
