northbend, that is sublime! Thanks for posting that. I'm impressed with the symmetry in that picture. What are you shooting with these days? I seem to remember that you replaced your camera recently after another one had been broken.

Nice stuff. There's something about those Motobecane bicycles that I find very appealing. They're intriguing enough that I'd consider getting one if the price and size is right. Since this is your first long ride, what are your impressions? Is it a keeper?

If you crossed the Westport River on Hixbridge, did you climb the hill heading west? That's a killer. Sharon and I took the tandem up there on a NBW ride once. You stand at the bottom and ask yourself what's that thing way up in the air? Oh, I think it's a traffic light. Or a plane, I can't tell for sure. I guess if you had the wind at your back you were heading west. It was a strong wind from the east today, wasn't it?
+1 on JJScaliger's ride. He always has nice pictures and a bit of a story to share.

It's my 78 Raleigh Competition. Pretty much my only bike, I use my wife's Sports for around town. I'm glad you like it, it was definitely my favorite shot of the ride.

Thanks for asking.
The ride was quite impressive, nice and stable on the gravel, exceptionally comfortable. I've yet to try it out on some steep winding descents to see how nimble it is in the corners. The steep gravel descent of Brown's Valley Rd. got me yearning for a little better stopping power and braking modulation. It's a fine line between a controlled descent and locked-up wheels on loose gravel. I'm taking it on a longer ride with more dirt and gravel this coming weekend, so I'll get to know its habits a little better.

obrentharris, your Moto looks like it would be ideal for Cino Heroica. Are you planning on going this September?

I had to look up "Cino Heroica" upon reading your post. Thanks for alerting me to what looks like a great ride! I will go one of these years, though maybe not this year: Unfortunately September is the busiest time of year for me. (I do landslide repairs, rockfall protection and the like: Everyone wants their project completed before the rains start up again.)

Had a little spring fever today, so I was able to get out of work by 3:30 and go for a short ride before dinner. A beautiful 71 degrees and sunny here in RI. I rode 24 miles on the De Rosa.

Seein' as how today is today, not yesterday, but the thread is named "Where'd You Ride Today?" which would have been today yesterday but not today, I did ride yesterday. Just my 25.75 mile commute. I rode this one on the Masi, which makes all 5 different bikes over the last 5 commute days. Definitely the best for last. Beautiful weather, light traffic. A joy to behold.

Northbend, simply stunning. It really shows the value of a good off-roader.

Rode over for a Growler refill to the local brewery in Snoqualmie. Sampled a nitro stout that was real creamy and good.
The round trip was maybe 10 miles on a gravel rail trail. Unplanned meetings along the way, twice with friends. Stopped and visited. What a nice afternoon.

I rode my commute again. Of course it isn't all biking. About 30min in the car, 10min waiting at a train station, 30min on the train, then about 12.7 miles to work. The trip home is the reverse, except that I take a slightly different route. 'Twas a great day to ride, a bit cool but great fun.

Thanks you guys. Today, I got out this morning and rode around the Valley for a couple of hours on my Eddy. Got home just as it started to rain. I hope for better weather tomorrow.

We did 52.1 miles on the tandem today, Hamilton to Newburyport.

On the return we discovered this real piece of C&V

Yeah, I like my GT6. But TR6's are a dime a dozen in British-car circles. When was the last time you saw a real "British Leyland Austin MG" sign???

Ummm, never.

But to be honest, I stopped my fixation with British sports cars in the early 80s when the prices started to go wonky.

Don't pay attention to pricing/lines like I used to when these were my primary hobby.

Glad you and Sharon made it out without the crew. One of these days I will actually be able to allocate enough time to ride 52 miles. Although I am not holding my breath.
