I got out yesterday and rode half of the local shop ride before deciding to split off on my own for some solitary time(thought my heart was going to explode a few times trying to hang with the fast kids). It was pretty foggy and damp all morning, but no rain. Made for a really nice November ride.

Looking at my pictures tells me that my phone is a mediocre (at best) camera.

Every time I ride past this old milk truck, I'm reminded of my childhood.

Phone quality nonwithstanding, your photos are well composed and the scenery is beautiful! Looks like a wonderful place to ride. I also love exploring through lands of forgotten eras, memorialized by abandoned farm structures!

Thanks southpawboston, I appreciate comment.

I ride these roads several times throughout the year, and coming into a different season they seem like a whole different place(if that makes any sense).

An even bigger wind here today. 20-30 mph from the south. I hit it hard in my indoor cycle class in the morning, so between the soreness and the wind, motivation for a second ride was slim. Still, with the time change and knowing my evening rides will be few, I got out for a 30 mile ride. Much like VR's ride, I went upwind on the way out, and wheeee on the way back.

A look across some Mississippi backwater.

Hup

On the downwind leg, took a quick self portrait. Long shadows at 2 in the afternoon, winter is near...

It's been raining for several days on end here, but yesterday I couldn't resist any longer going out on a ride with my newly modified Concorde

crank_a, I saw a movie about those things once. Have you notified the authorities about them? Do it quick before they take over your mind.

I have a lovely 15-20 mile loop, depending on how much pretty stuff I see haha, that I like to bike almost every morning. This shot was close to downtown St. Pete on a tiny little beach. Mind you I didn't ride through the sand but had to step down to take a photo.

Pretty decent day here today, maybe 60 or so and overcast with a fairly good wind. I got out for a 40 miler. I stopped by a field where I remembered taking a picture this spring and tried to recreate it. Well, it's the same spot, but not the same angle. This is earlier in the spring:

Same spot today:

And another couple from todays ride in southeastern CT.

Cold and rain predicted here for the next few days, probably spend some time doing maintenance work on the bikes.

Tough day in SoCal today. Oceanside beach was almost deserted! I guess it was because temps were only in the mid-70's! The bike is a 1968 Lygie retro-mod 7 speed.

Love those winery pics. Rob, that's a nice stealthy looking gravel grinder!

I took the Sachs out for a little field play.

Bocce anyone?

Good gracious, another crazy cool bike from VR.

A riding buddy has a Sachs frameset that he is still racing this season.

His is pretty beat, but I may end up with it anyway. It's exactly my size and I would have zero quilt coating it with grime.

This one is my favorite, I haven't got up the courage to get her all dirty yet, Baby steps I guess. For now the Indy Fab is seeing most of the dirt.

You should work on getting that Sachs.

Well, I actually had it in my hands two years ago.

My buddy Tommy, an old friend that still races, needed a cross bike two years ago so I sold it to him.

I needed the $$$ at the time for my boys to do elite soccer training at a camp in Chicago.

I'll get the frameset back eventually and maybe have Chris Kvale refinish it.

It's really been very well used.

That Sachs is so cool VR. It begs to get dirty

I went out on a 50 mile fixed gear ride on Saturday.
Rode out to Issaquah

Then looped back over the Sammamish Plateau into Fall City to meet up with my wife and a friend for a cruise out to Carnation.

The fog lifted nicely and we were in the sun

We looped back to Fall City on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail

I left them there and wandered back up the valley to our home in North Bend.

I am glad we rode yesterday, today it is cold and raining..

Visiting a friend in NH this weekend. Last night we decided we'd light it up (then we went for a ride ). It was 40 degrees F, with calm winds. My $20 thrift store kit (pants, jacket, and merino wool sweater) worked like a charm, wasn't cold at all. Chuck picked up some christmas lights for his bike just for kicks. People definitely saw us coming.

I'm gonna have to come out for a visit and ride someday, @northbend, that's just too beautiful to pass up. Are those Vittoria CG Pavés? If so, how do you like them? Is that what you ran on the Cino? My goal is tubular next time on my Gitane TdF and I'm searching for a nice, wide, vintage-looking tubular.

Hey Dave, yes, those are Pavés on the bike currently. I like em alot - durable and great for riding in the muck of the shoulder seasons. Not a vintage looking tire though..kinda ugly to my eye but they work so well. I bet the tubular versions would be fantastic.

I rode Challenge Paris Roubaix's during Cino this year. This pair held up better than the previous ones I had

I plan on riding Tubulars next year for Cino on the Singer. I have some Dugasts stretching on an unfinished project in the garage. They will go on just before Cino.

For Spares, I picked up some Challenge L'Eroica's on Velomine for a great price. I have heard mixed reviews about them but they certainly do look the part for a vintage ride.

If you do travel to the Seattle, please do look me up. I'd love to show you around. Lots of great riding 'round here in the Summer at least...

I'll echo that. And for the rest of the year, something with fenders will do you just fine. It's rarely just-plain-too-cold to ride in reasonable comfort around here, but it sure gets wet.

The ground was soaked from last night's showers, so it's time for a fendered morning ride through the industrial waterfront of Port Angeles; just gorgeous this morning with a nice warm breeze blowing the streets dry. Shirt-sleve riding weather. My freshly fendered fixie at rest in the Boat Haven:

Now it's time to play find the fixie in the log yard:

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

There it is!

"Daddy, is there where bicycle fenders come from?"

Can you find the fixie in the paper mill?

OK, a little easier to spot in this one.

One more turn. Find the fixie in the boatyard:

The thing about living and working around commercial fishing boats and such, you don't really notice how big they are until they get pulled out of the water!
