Where'd You Ride Today? (New & Improved)

Thursday was our 37th anniversary so we did a celebration ride on the tandem today, 41.8 miles. Bedford, Concord, Walden Pond and DeCordova Museum, Concord to Carlisle and back, 2A into Lexington, back along the MM to Bedford.
I like that colorful bike and it looks like you have some very nice scenery around your area!
Another great looking bike bike in nice scenery!:
This thread is awesome, I appreciate all the the posts/pictures. It's amazing how many nice places there are out there!

Nice pics, everyone. Lots of cool places!
BF member photogravity showed up in town yesterday to pick up a bike from nlerner, so we did a ride with him today. Things didn't work out as planned because of an airline connection, but that's another story. So he borrowed my Gran Sport and we rode until about noon, 20 miles round trip on the Minuteman Bikeway. Then Sharon and I went out again into Concord and Carlisle for a total of 43.1. It was a great day.
At the start
Lunch
A stop at Ferns. So many wheels, so little steel
This time we stopped for veggies at the end of the ride
Post-ride snack, strawberries and homemade non-dairy ice cream, yum
Addendum: Requisite cleaning of the bike, made possible by the ice cream.

father's day ride
Wow, you got out a lot this weekend Jim! Looks like you had fun with PG.
I managed to go for a 38 mile ride on the Dawes today in Johnston-Scituate-Smithfield. Great weather; sunny and about 80.
I finally switched my rear derailleur back to the Suntour VT luxe.
Although I loved the style and look of the huret svelto, it was a little finicky shifting. It chirped at me in certain gears, and I couldn't live with the static. The Suntour, well, it's perfect. Flawless shifting. Like a modern derailleur. The only reason I took it off initually was because it couldn't handle my winter abuse and seized up. A nice wd40 bath brought it back to normal.

Dawes in Smithfield

As for that VGT-Luxe, it's maybe the most bulletproof RD ever made. Not quite the lightest but just superb.
Thanks.

It was an on-off rain and wind weekend, so needed to take advantage when I could. 50 on Friday evening, 25 yesterday morning, and 26 today. Along the way took photos of the women's race at the Stillwater leg of the Nature Valley Grand Prix. The hills are very steep and they climbed it quite quickly as compared to my usual pace up those same hills. I'd intended to do the "spectator" grand fondo in Menominee yesterday, but the weather was too iffy and wind too strong from the south to risk having to go 20 miles straight into a 40mph wind. So I pieced together 100 miles in smaller bits.

- The report of my death was an exaggeration. (That picture is notably unflattering.)
- I smile when I eat.
EDIT: I was trying to correct the Twain (mis)quote, when Jim posted a response to my message.

Smiling while eating is good. I was smiling too but my beard gets in the way.
Glad to see you made it home safely, and with a great bike too! It was a fun visit!

Sorry about the pic but it's the only one I have with both my blue bikes. In any case, Sharon is, um, rather diminutive.

As far as the new acquisition, I hope to be out the door on time tonight so I can take the Mercian on its first ride, well at least the first since it came into my possession.

Last Friday evening. Hammerheart Brewing Company, Lino Lakes, MN. It was an absolutely gorgeous Minnesota evening. Two Hokan Brown Ales made it even better, and riding home was much safer than driving.

revcp, I wish I could ride off to a good brewery and then have someone drive me home. Or just walk home.
otg, that a nice looking bike. How long you been riding that one? We haven't seen it before, I don't think.
As on most days I did my 30 mile commute. It was hot and humid. I'll probably skip tomorrow because of weather and fatigue, and skip Thursday because we have a gig that night.
I posted a thread in 50+ asking about leg fatigue. I've been running up at least 200 miles a week since DST started, sometimes more, including a metric on the tandem a week ago and century solo about a month ago. I've probably already run up 2000 miles this year. My weight is down to 160, once even below. Their consensus was that I overtraining. I don't think of it as training, just riding! But I won't argue. When my sweetie says I need more rest and more food, who am I to disagree?

Hi Jim, I picked up the Fuji over the winter, didn't really need it, but it was on the Providence Craigslist for quite a while, and I finally gave in. It's a nice, comfortable touring bike, a bit on the heavy side, but fits me nicely. You really have been racking up the miles this season!

Once we move back into the house and get settled (home fire mid February) I'll be able to get more miles in.

I'm uncertain as to how many pictures I can post in one go, so this may take 2 posts. I took my bike "to the big city" for an urban bike adventure. It was fun, but I'm beat! Here's the evidence:
Bike on transit (it's allowed)
Bridge over Willamette River - downtown Portland.
Street art around a neighborhood traffic circle.
Favorite shopping Cake & cappuccino Look at how many go over this bridge!
Rode up the east side of Washington Park to the Oregon Zoo (had to walk the bike part of the way - big long hill), then down the west side back to my suburban town.

@Lascauxcaveman, Very pretty bike and, yes, very similar looking. I certainly prefer the looks of your lugged frame and crown fork, but I have no issues with how my stumpy rides.
