A friend and I got out for a slow, cold (32 to ~29 deg F), windy ride. We rode from Bloomfield, CT to Westfield, Ma and back again using the old Columbia factory as our half-way point. It was mostly highway riding (i.e. bike path / rails to trails). That coupled with the gloves limited the picture taking during the ride. Wound up close enough to 50mi to call it close enough.
About 12mi in I had to stop and MacGyver some booties. Ventilated shoes and loose weave wool socks does not a warm foot make...guess I'm out of practice for the cold.
The derelict mostofabike is a "Columbia".
WARM Big Y chicken pot pie at the half-way mark.
It was a good day.
Edit: Another friend has a couple of '30s(?) Columbia skip tooths (no idea on model) and a couple of Commuter IIs. Could be fun to ride out there on those.

I couldn't find the "Where'd you ride yesterday?" thread... I got out for some back-road exploring branching out from a typical route of mine spread between Branford and Guilford. I found another few new-to-me entrances to Westwoods - I'll have to spend a bit more time exploring there at some point. I turned around when the trail turned to icy rock...

Beautiful architectural work by Henry Austin, this house was built 1878-80. He has another about a mile up the road, but getting a good pic of it was difficult (not that this pic is any good).
A few local staples:

Today was 11 miles at zero degrees with about a 12mph northwest wind. Surprisingly, there were about a half dozen others out "enjoying" the conditions, mostly on fatbikes. I was sporting the Croll with about 2.1 inch tires. The bike did fine on a packed trail, but was more sketchy on the ice than the fatty. Phone froze or I'd have taken a pic or two. All in all, still better than riding on the trainer.

I got out for 15 quick miles this morning. 34 degrees, starting to have trouble keeping my feet warm. Everything else was fine. No pictures though, sorry!

We took ye ol' vintage tandem (the only one we have) out for a quick 19.9 miles today, home to Lexington. It was chilly but tolerable, tolerable. Some road surfaces and more of the Minuteman Bikeway had ice patches, frozen holdovers from yesterday's hard rain. T'was nice to get out on the bike.
First stop shortly after entering the Fitchburg Cutoff extension of the MM, my sweetie had to pull out the mittens. So I took a pic of the bike.
At the Lexington Visitors Center this magnificent beast showed up. Not sure what it was, probably an immature Red Tail which are fairly common around here.

56 miles of river roads and orchards. Low 50's and overcast. Perfect riding weather on a quiet Sunday.

Nice pics Jim, we have quite a few Hawks and Osprey near me, I can never seem to get close enough for a good pic, let alone 3-4 pics. Nice work.
Thanks for the compliment @curbtender
Yesterday, managed to get in 20 hungover miles before the snow. Stopped at one of my favorite spots.

Didn't ride today. As @Vonruden said - snow yesterday (started as I was getting ready to ride). 1/2 inch of snow and a 1/2 of salt on the roads. Today never got above 25 deg so it was my first winter day on the trainer. At least I held off until the 18th of Jan. Far better than last winter. My trainer is a 79 Moto Mirage on a Cyclops mag. The Moto stays in top gear all the time and I adjust the trainer counter force a bit but it also stays pegged most of the time. 25 minutes of spinning to Trad then another few minutes of one legged cycling. I do think the one legged work helps. If I'm not perfectly smooth on the power all the way around the clock the tranny rattles to reprimand me. Excellent feedback which promotes smooth spinning. But wicked boring!!
5 to 8 expected on Saturday, and of course more salt.
