I won't have pictures until next week, but will be picking up a grab bag of bike parts from the same person that I picked up the two Falcon Eddie Merckx bike from last summer. I remember that the 2 original NR rear deraillers are there, some Kevlar belted tubular tires, little drawers of Campy dérailleur parts and some new (maybe Brooks) leather bar wrap as well as other things that I don't recall. All for $125.

Over time we get a lot of bikes that are not worth repairing. Many have some part that are worth using. I would hate to see theme go into a land fill.

Please stop by to see what we have. Do not ask me to if I have a specific thing. Mostly old stuff, but some good stuff some scrap.

Well, I finally have a Raleigh Sports of My own. I own several Raleighs, but none of them with this kind of truly old school look. The Sprite can now be sold off to finance other projects like this one. Grand total of 18 bucks. I think the B.72 can be saved, at least I hope it can. Sturmey AW rear hub is dated 70 9, so I imagine it's a 71. It is VERY dirty but is all there, and no real rust to speak of. Tires are Nankang replacements, and need to be replaced again. Some dummy scratched their TX drivers license number into EVERY painted part that could be removed, and even the saddle, sigh. A quick qipedown revealed nearly perfect unfaded sparkling coffee paint and good decals. It also has some good sized dings in the chainguard and fenders. It gives it character though;-).

Honorable mention, I also found this Schwinn Searcher on the way to get the Sports. It is fairly clean and was only $43 with tax. It will be a quick clean/lube/flip for extra cash. I have never seen a beach cruiser with 700's and V brakes. At the very least it's different!,,,,BD

Mine has a painted fork. Pics shortly after receiving it (a $75 eBay purchase):

It's a bike shop, so I assume they're selling the stuff. Haven't had a chance to get down there yet, but my guess is there won't be much of interest, because these shops regularly offer low-end refurbished bikes for ridiculous prices. They've likely cherry picked anything good.

Thanks , today I picked up another nice Velo sport Alpin , a Nishiki international and a kinda cheap Legnano so I'll post a group picture of everything soon.

The Velo Sport Alpin touring bike (the one bought today), just spent an hour cleaning it , didn't conme with those wheels though. At $90 I overpaid a little but it has some very nice racks.Shimano deore drivetrain (including the huge axelled pedals) , full chromo frame.

The Kuwahara , came with two racks and dryed out plastic fenders.

A 23" frame makes it an even better catch. Hope the Dare hand grips are in good shape.

Wow nice stuff, sure wish I could find stuff like that around here. I keep looking and can't find anything that doesn't have a hipster tax, and we don't even have hipsters here, not that I'm aware of anyway.

I saved this 79? Schwinn World Sport from the crusher yesterday. Pretty rough looking, but all it actually needs is a paint job, seat, and wheels. The brakes, derailleurs, seat post, and everything still works. Not bad for $1. I'm assuming it's a 79 because it says 79 on the crank arm.

Nice catch! Want to do a BF experiment? Use that Oxalic acid (spelling?) that the guys on the forum are talking about for rust. Throw everything into a kiddie pool of the stuff. The bike looks silver, and that should be an easy color to touch-up. But ya gotta lose that mattress saddle!

That's what I was going to do. I'll see if that stuff works. Most bikes I get I just try to sell, but I like this one(except the saddle). I'm not even sure why someone put that on there...

A buddy just gave me a Schwinn Voyageur, needs lots of attention, sat in a barn for 18 or so yrs, going to get overhauled, and ridden.I would like to sell my Schwinn World that I just finished redoing with a good Azure blue powder coating and chrome polish. Dimension 44cm bars and Easton 160mm stem, with a self machined theadless headset adapter and all bearing races having been polished. Pretty bike. still needs stickers.

Really good touring bike & a really good buddy. Hope it is the right frame size for you. Post some pictures when you get a chance...might also make a nice "before & after" thread.

Picked off on CL for $40, and it was not even 5 miles from me. A clean, but low end "Made in Taiwan" Centurion Cuscom DLX mixte. Just some surface rust and cracked tires, other than that in nice shape.

Just in time for spring.

You can probably start a thread, and post pictures (BF members love pictures), with a request for more information about the bike. I did, and got a fast response...very knowledgeable group. Pictured below is the 1984 model.
