Picked the 85 trek 660 up for $20. Had to do a little work to it. Plan on doing a cheap build to just get it ridable. Way to many projects in front of it.

I wasn't going to post pics of this '89 Technium PRE, but after I cleaned it, she was too pretty not to post. Snagged it for $50 and it looks like it was ridden a few times and put up. Not a scratch on the paint.

I had it for sale, but no one was interested. It was either the price, or people are afraid of the damage that was repaired. I never claimed to be a professional. just cheap. I will probably just keep it. I have the 1985 600 series wrapped up. It will look nice next to my 670.

Another great CL find. Wheel set in NOS condition for $50. Campagnolo Omega Strada Hardox. The seller said he purchased the set and hung them up 15 years ago. I think it was longer than that! Found a sold ebay listing for a pair of the rims that sold for $200! Chorus hubs for freewheel 32 hole, 126 rear. The hubs do not have "Chorus" under the shield. Haven't inspected the date code yet. Note the rim is a V rim and according to the sold add, is rare. Any comment about the rarity?

I had an unexpected find on CL of a Specialized hybrid for $60. Seller ended up delivering it for $70, but lost the front skewer so it came to $65.
Photo was terrible, and I had no idea what it was but it was a modern bike.
What it turned out to be was a 2010 Sirrus Sport in my size! Carbon fiber fork, mini V brakes, even front rack bosses on the fork!
I was planning to flip it as I prefer C&V, but I think this one is a keeper. I'm planning to do an epic Pacific Coast tour from Vancouver, Canada to San Diego. Instead of converting a C&V hybrid as my touring rig, this one will be my jack-of-all-trades.
It's being wrenched at work. But I've already stripped its flat bar, and turning it into a drop bar/brifter tourer. Racks are next.

Took in my recycling this morning and saw a pickup with a bike in it. I asked the gentleman if he wanted a couple dollars for the bike, he said I could have it. Left at his new house from previous owners, a 1989 Rockhopper with the Mountain LX group. Well used, but not neglected. 17" frame, small for me , but will fit a kid before too long. A true save from the dump!

So I told I a family friend I was looking for a bike frame and he said he had an old one sitting at his house.. Well when I got there it was an all original Bianchi Sport SS that still had the shimano golden arrow parts.. Well it actually had all the original parts.. And best of all it was FREEEEEE

My DT shifter Cannondale drought is FINALLY over. I thought I'd never find one. I was denied at every turn. Well, what do I pick up today? What looks like a 1985(or thereabouts) ST400 sport touring bike. Three bottle mounts, and rack mount forks. A shame it doesn't have canti's, that would be just too much, haha. I think it's a 23 so on the small side for my legs, but the next size up is a 25", which would be too big almost. I am right in that bad size range for bikes that do the 23"-25" frame size jump. Oh well, just need a Technomic and I am good to go. The seat doesn't look overly high, but it's a lean to the drops.. Pics in a few.
EDIT: Just looked up the serial number, and it's an 84 model. BB1277 is the serial number.
Oh yeah, and it is in NICE shape for an 80's C'dale. No visible corrosion, stuck cable housings, peeling paint, etc.. A clean, re-lube, tires/tubes, cables, and I am down the road!,,,,BD
This is after a much needed bath. Pearl sky blue, guess I won't be touching that color up easily.

I picked a Homelite (Ryobi) gas powered weed trimmer from the neighbour's trash after a yard crew had left it behind.
The fuel line had broken inside the tank and the repair kit cost $3.98 and it came with a full tank of gas... it purrs like a kitten.
