Picked up a few things today, but only have a picture of the one I got for free. Department store 1 speed, with a coaster brake, fenders and rear rack. Tires are a little dry, but still usable. Even has a bell and an analog speedometer.
I am trying to figure out why someone (I hope not the factory) hooked the rear rim brake up to a stem shifter rather than a hand grip.

She's a little dirty, needs a little love, but a nice, solid ride. I believe it's an 87/88 Limited(?), Italian made. Can someone verify or correct my wrongness, please?

I would be feeling pretty good about it too. Those are EXTREMELY nice bikes. Of course I am a little biased, I have almost the exact same bike in a larger frame, hehe. I paid $104 for mine. It was a local pickup 112 miles out of town. After 224 miles at gas over $3 a gallon, it was mine. Well worth it though. Mine came with a set of cartrdge hub bearing wheels, and the RD had been swapped to a Deore. I've been searching for that long cage 600 ever since.,,,,BD

My first road bike was a Univega Viva Sport but I desecrated it by rattlecanning it and turning it into a single speed. To appease the biking gods it picked up this entirely original (besides the saddle that I replaced" Univega Gran Sprint yesterday for a fair $175. Nothing is going to be changed on this besides removing the reflectors. My favorite part are the ornate (for Univega) lugs with a darker blue diamond cutout.

Picked up this Schwinn Premis at a garage sale yesterday .......had a post-it note on it that said "Ladies Bike $10". Also found a World Sport for $10. The Premis is likely my best garage sale find to date.......

I mentioned this bike the other day on another thread and here it is - a 1985 Trek 620 with a few nice mods.
It obviously needs a bit of TLC but was definately put together by someone who knew their stuff. What finally sold me was how nice the Huret drive train shifted and the fact the original Helicomatic hubs were replaced with a nice Specialized hub/Mavic Module E wheelset.
The Shimano 6206 crankset looks brand new under the dirt
All told, I really like this bike, it rides like a dream.

There is quite a few of them still out there. There was an Add for one a few months ago on CL Atlanta. Sent the guy a link letting him know what he had. Friday I went to Bens bikes in Athens www.bensbikesathens.com and they have one for sale on the floor asking $350. Pointed out what they had. Bet it is still there.

I haven't been out looking for a few weeks since I already have a garage + full of bikes to work on, I did score a lot of parts this week between my uncle who was here for the week and a local CL buy. My uncle was cleaning shop and bought me a bunch of stuff he no longer wants/needs and the best was a new Brooks B17 in black which I mounted on my Concord Pacer SS along with a Middlemore leather saddle. He gave me a full Suntour XCM 7speed setup along with a Sora triple and derailleurs, also gave me all the stuff he removed from his Motobecane Super Mirage that has become a track bike and a ton of other bits like cassettes,stems and a like new Ross lugged 10 speed that he bought for my cousin when she was in high school and never used.
My CL buy started out with a set of 26" cruiser wheels with the Shimano Nexus 3 speed coaster brake hub and shifter assy that were removed from a Trek when it was new followed by another set of single speed wheels that were also removed from a Trek cruiser when new,the tires on both sets are still new for a total of $60. I also bought the big cruiser seats and handle bar mounted water bottle cages off of the Treks for another $20.

Belated pictures.... It's not a super score or anything, just an ok bike in not so pristine condition. The seat post is different than anything I have seen before. It has two 13mm bolts that loosen to adjust the angle, the fit is a little tight so you need a thin wrench. I like the crest on the post, I was thinking about keeping it for my own bikes.

I would be tempted to keep it but it's too big for me. It does seem pretty nice though, I took a short ride to work on it. I think the Altus shifters are pretty cool.

...worth the wait, mkeller234. It will clean up well and since it's black, you could get away with a little touch-up around the seat post binder and have it looking like new.
PS - I see you included the Raleigh GS is in the background for some extra eye candy!

Been trolling garage sales lately. Not much in terms of C&V unfortunately.
I was looking for a step through for my mom and I found what I think is a 1998 Bianchi Avenue for $15. Only problem were busted plastic on the grip shifts, easy enough to replace.
First bike I've ridden with 700s with larger tires, and I liked the ride quality so much I told her I'd take it if she won't ride it
Second, a bike I couldn't really say no to
. A 2000 Klein Attitude Comp for a steal.
Sadly, not a C&V Klein as I realized when I counted the 9 cogs on the back, but it is rather similar to its elders. Some nicks and scratches, pleasantly light, too nice to take off road... need to find some dirt trails easy on the rocks to feel it out.

Schwinn is the name of the week for me, I picked up a Schwinn Supersport this afternoon. It has no front wheel....but the price was very right. It's got some ugly welds but it's fitted with a decent indexing Exage group. It's pretty small so I am not sure what my plans for it are.
