Jealous! Great racks for the vintage bikes.
Love the silver one on my Fuji T III I liberated from a Pannasonic PT 3500 I flipped. Want to find another for the Trek 420 and a front for the Fuji.

Did a little research last night. They are Nervex and the frame is Reynolds 531. I think I will head over to the trade thread and see if I can swap this for a project in my size (50 cm.) Thanks to all for the info!

Well I had given up on this one when I heard back from the guy this evening. REALLY wish it was my size but at 56cm it is on the Catch and release program.
1994 (I think) Fuji Touring complete with extra spokes.
Shimano LX drive train with Dia Comp Brakes. I may do a little parts swapping and keep the drivetrain and bar ends. Have to think about it for a while.

Now this is totally weird. It has NO brazons on the seat stays for a Rack. does have them on the drops and mid fork.

This is no wear on the tires and nearly no crud build up on the cassette.

Here is a Raleigh Competition I picked up today from CL. Guy lived in a sketchy area, let me in his place, paid for the bike and then he went upstairs. He never came back down and I let myself out..... didn't lock the door. Weird....

Nothing more exhilarating than risking your life for a vintage bicycle frame! This is reality TV material for sure...

I put the old Axion racks on my Trekker (1999 Trek 7500) as I plan to use that as a light - medium tourer... the Cascade is like an LHT or rather, the LHT is like my Cascade in that although it is a nice bike to ride without a load it gets exponentially better when the bike is doing what it is designed for.

I only curb out at 145 and a bigger rider would experience a different ride... I need to add 55 pounds of touring gear just to make the bike purr the way it is supposed to and without a load I run those Marathons at their minimum psi.

Same thing happens with any full on touring bike... they are so very stiff until you load them up.

Picked up this 1990 Bridgestone RB-3. I had to buy the 10 other bikes ( Nothing nice- closest was a Champion tubed Soma) to get it. I had spoken to the guy before and he told me about his Bridgestone RB bike. He said it fit him, he is if anything a little shorter than I am so I was up for the gamble when he stoped by with a pickup load of junk bikes, and included his "B somthing RB" touring bike in the deal. I did not know which RB it would be, and if it would fit, but I was up for $20 gamble.
It arrived on the second pick-up load. It is saved from the dump but not for my use ( its too tall for me). I was taken back seeing the Wald steel stem holding the "Drunk Bars"... so like all other rancid/repugnat things I took a picture to share ( As several comidans have pointed out :"Ewww this smells bad- here you smell it")

Saw this Univega hybrid in my hometown CL. The seller listed it for $50. I emailed 3.5 hours it was posted, thinking someone would surely beat me to it. I got a reply from the seller the next day, saying the bike was still available. I asked my folks to pick it up the following day. When they got there, he told my parents he got the wrong size seatpost, so he offered to sell it cheaper....for $20! Thank goodness my folks accepted!

I can't wait to try the bike out when I get home for the summer!

I think it's a Via De Oro. Any idea what year it was?
Here are two small pictures from the ad.

Got this in trade today. My bike buddy doesn't have internet so I offered to list a bike for him on CL. He gave me this 70s-ish motobecane super mirage and a brand new Giant magnetic trainer. He's moving so he's purge mode... lucky me.

1990 Giant Rincon

My catch on Monday was a 1990 Giant Rincon for $25 off the local CL. Obviously stored in the garage for the past 20+ years, still has its 1991 license sticker. Everything was in adjustment. I just cleaned, lubed and updated with a new saddle and grips and different wheels and tires. Took it for its inaugural ride today, in spite of the snow. Feels like it will become one of my regular rides. Thank you for this thread--you keep me inspired.

Like from the early to mid 90's when Univega was owned by the same company that owned Raleigh.

Found at the Dump today, and I mean the dump. After all, that is what this thread is about, correct...

Old entry level Sekine with a lovely, near new set of SA drum brake hubs - three speed rear and high flange front. Trigger shifter is included and so is the Brooks saddle. Ya just never know what the Dump will cough up next...
