I was given a Vista Carrera 7. It looks a lot like the Bridgestone with the divided top tube. I have not been able to find out a lot about it except in blogs. It is in pretty rough shape, but nothing with frame. I will try to get pictures posted soon. Does anyone know about Vistas?

Lots of bikes had split top tube design (pretty much every manufacturer made at least one).
The Carrera 7 mixte I saw had steel rims, turkey levers, high ten steel frame, claw rear derailleur hanger, steel handlebar and seat post, steel crank rings, stamped dropouts.

Not 100% on the year. That is just a guestimate based on some searching that he did.
From some quick searching I just did, it looks later, mabye 30's? Anyone?

Man I had a great bike day yesterday. Weather was awesome in the morning and got in 20. My bud Luckychow99 talked me out of yard work (it wasnt hard) and we hit a shop we had not visited before and the CoOp where I found a 70 or 80mm Nitto stem I may use as a partial trade for A 26.4 cinelli stem I need for the bars I have.
Well I had been trying to collect Nuovo Record parts or Super record parts to replace the missing Super record parts off my 82 Trek 730.
After the smoking deal on the C Record crank I picked up on Thursday I decided that it would look funny to Run the more modern looking C-Record crank with the vintage looking Derailleurs I was looking for and to broaden my search to include Gen2 super and 90's preferably Record.
A relatively new LBS was struggling and was closing due to not being able to get (didn't have the capital) in any decent stock that they could move. Was not getting enough repair work and was going under. Another LBS from the next city decided to acquire them as a second location.
Decided to stop by while out on a morning ride and turns out I loosely knew the owner from when he worked at a different shop back in the 80's. We ended up talking for a good 45 minutes. He's carrying Jamis as his new line but has a little bit of vintage stuff and doing some consignment trying to broaden the traffic. Also going ot do a big swap meet in April.
Anyway he's not up on Campy and had no intention to carry any. There was a Chorus RD that came with the shop that is in new condition without a box and I really wonder if it has ever been on a bike. Cut me a smoking deal. Should look good with the C-Record crank.
I also hit another shop after we left the CoOp that said they could put in a Helicoil on my 2000's Record cranks that were gifted to me with a stripped left peddle hole. Of all the shops around me they were the first that did that kind of work. Way out side my normal travels. Those will probably end up on the OpusIII. They look nicer then the 105 that's on it now. Rainy day today so I wont get distracted with yard work and cane get some work done on a flipper and maybe get those new parts mounted.

Dumpster rescue of Italian road bike.
I watched this rusty Italian road bike go into a giant recycling-bound dumpster - couldn't stand for it so gave $20 and pulled it out. Plenty of rust all over, but interesting (heavy) steel frame with seatpost jam-nut and unusual braze-on for brake cable hanger, Campy dropouts, chrome fork crown. Now-shiny Campy derailleur system, steel rear Record, NR front, clamp-on shifters. 3TTT stem and bars. Japanese Belt saddle (with green moss patina), Super-Champion rims, Gnutti hubs (crusty). The frame will probably head to powder-coat someday. Can anyone venture a guess at the make?

The Vistas I have seen were all really low end. It was supposedly a spin off brand from Columbia bikes.

I bought a bottle cage on flebay locally, went to pickup and came home with this. It had a Brooks B17 the seller thought all the value was in that so let him keep it and I dont like them anyway.
Mid 70's ? Carlton Rapide Don't know were this fits in there model lineup as far as how good it is and not sure what I'll do with it yet, it rides quite nice though.

Not a complete bike but at a church sponsored rummage sale I found
a set of Integra STI 9 speed shifters for $2.00. They didn't work but after a cleaning with WD40 they work fine.
Also they had a Selle Italia Flite saddle with no price, asked how much and
the guy said how about 50 cents. It is now on my Ironman.
Am going to put the shifters on my Ironman also.

The Carkton is cool, but I SO would have kept the Brooks saddle that came on it?? It was more likely a B.15, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Do NOT ride it again until you lube everything either. That "ride" may have blown out both hubs and the bottom bracket, since the grease is probably completely dried up.,,,,BD

It take's a 26.2 post and as pictured weigh's 11.4kg "25.1 pounds" and there's no derailler hanger, I've read Carlton never made bad bike's but this ain't there best effort.
Geometry seems tight it steers good with a stiff frame, in particular the fork.
It had a non original B17 it was quite new looking but I couldn't handle wearing it in and the brakes look to new to be original I'm sure the hoods are new "nice bonus"
I test rode before buying and everything worked like a charm and very smooth the panta is more from bad storage but yep its still gotta pulled down and given the treatment.

Picked up a nice package deal today, a Bridgestone MB5, a 1998 +/- Caloi Comp (Shimano 105 STI), and a bunch of extras. I've never come across a Caloi before, but I love the metallic green color!
