$35 dollars for frameset. 1998 Bianchi Trofeo Ofmega Vantage cranckset ,ITM manubri and handlebar,Miche headset,Campagnolo Avanti groupset. Wheels are Araya 700 with cheap Czar tires that I will replace with Vittorias.I paid $80 bucks for them. Here is the question.Should I dump some money into it?Thinking of painting it Celeste and getting a decent wheel set.
Please advice.

WV is not flat..
Picked this up today. It is a 1985 Fuji Del Rey. Looks to be all original (even the tires) and in pretty decent condition. It has the Suntour Lepree group, Ukai wheels, quad butted Valite frame and Nitto stem and bars. Should clean up well. It would have been cool to get the Cateyemate computer working, but the backscreen is broken. I thought the small chainring had been replaced, but the catalog shows the same one. https://www.classicfuji.com/DelRey_1985_Page.htm

1973 Raleigh Record sat under a carport for 20+ years. Owner was going to throw it away 3 yrs ago, but I said I'd take it. I did just enough to make ridable and it sat outside as art until a month ago. I had a bunch of extra parts laying around so I thought I'd tinker with it over the winter

Picked up a 1989 Schwinn Traveler yesterday on CL for practically nothing. The guy bought the bike and matching girls bike for him and his wife and she decided she wanted a beach cruiser so he was just trying to get them out of the garage. Surface rust on the chrome components and needs new tubes and chain but I've brought bikes back from way worse. Frame is rust free and everything else works. I think I should have all the parts in the spare parts box anyways. It came with an IKJ (made in Holland) mechanical speedometer/odometer that still works and has 305 miles on it, a neat leather Schwinn seat bag and an old bike pump that's unfortunately rusted close.
It's nice to have something not very expensive to lock up in front of stores, friend's houses, etc. I've been searching for a good steel bike that will fit me (I'm 6'4") since my last 1987 Schwinn World Sport was stolen.
Pink bottle cage will be the first to go...
I bought it about two miles from the original shop it was sold at in Visalia, hadn't traveled far...

I'm 6'4" and love bikes this size. The pink cage rocks.

grabbed this 1984 Panasonic Touring Deluxe today
unfortunately it's been poorly repainted but hopefully i will be able to remove it. parts are low end but somewhere along the line the RD was upgraded to Deerhead.. kinda suspect that happened before it left the store though

Seldom post any of my finds... But, I do love the Japanese made Bianchi's, so had to post this one I picked up a day or so ago.
Craigslist ad listed for $50.
Quite nice shape, and in my size!
Tires aren't even weather checked, and tubes are holding air.
Has a B17 Brooks on it, that is in fair shape. Some leather conditioner should help soften it.
Frame pump and a rear seat small saddle bag (not shown).
Pic is of bike as purchased.
Rides smooth, shifts smooth. General clean-up should be all that's needed.

Mine had Suntour V-Luxe GT derailleurs, SR Silstar Cranks, Mavic Mod E 700c wheelset & Dia-Compe side pull brakes. I plan on making it a upright lite tourer using Suntour XC components with 7spd Accushift Bar Cons. I already built up a new set of wheels for it, got a NOS XC Comp triple crank and derailleurs & a XC seat post. I haven't decided what brake set I am going to use yet but most likely a set of bronze colored Dia-Compes I have, I also picked up some new gold decals for it & a set of fenders.

Picked up this 1985 Univega Specialissima yesterday. Original drive train long gone unfortunately. I enjoy rebuilding touring bikes from this era, this one will hit the parts bin hard. RSX on a mid 1980's touring bike? Uh, no thanks. I'll recycle those parts onto another project.

Well...I picked up a number of bikes in the last week...saving several from being thrown out...here you go with the entire "week haul"...
(1) Schwinn Suburban - good shape...will turn it into a rider for my mother-in-law when she visits...FREE! (dump)
(2) Schwinn Passage - small frame bike...will flip this one (paid $75)
(3) Miyata 310 - again, small frame bike...try to convince wifey to ride! (paid $100)
(4) Fuji Sport 12 - in VERY rough shape...paid $30 for it...simply to get the Suntour Bar Ends! There are a few other parts that will hit the parts bin...seat post is stuck, so, unfortunately, this frame probably ends up in the dump
(5) Schwinn Tempo - few pieces missing (saddle, brake calipers), but should contribute to parts bin with a 105 group...and, who knows, might rebuild and try it out! (paid $80)
(6) Italvega - in building up my Raleigh Professional and International, I need Campy DT Clamp On Shifters...this had a set...so I bought it for $50, just to get the shifters!
(7) Raleigh Grand Prix - bought to add to my collection of Raleighs (hey, @$80...why not?)
(8) Miyata Sport (no pictures) - bought it ($40) to fix up and flip...well...a woman spotted on my car rack at a grocery store stop...she wanted it...I said, ok, $60...she bought it then and there...I did not even get it home!
(9)Trek Frame (no pictures yet...will post in another thread after pictures...to try and help identify) - paid ZERO!

I take it that's the blue one with the black bands on the seat tube? What size is it? Got any plans for it beyond being a parts donor? If you don't and it's in decent shape, I might be talked into taking it off your hands.

<<<Is that a Touring model, it looks like one I own ( at least the same color & decals) and I would love to see some more pictures of it. I found mine in the trash almost 25yrs ago and stored it away in the attic of my shop. ( before I knew anything about Bianchi ) I am now slowly starting to work on it and gathering the last few parts I need.
Mine had Suntour V-Luxe GT derailleurs, SR Silstar Cranks, Mavic Mod E 700c wheelset & Dia-Compe side pull brakes. I plan on making it a upright lite tourer using Suntour XC components with 7spd Accushift Bar Cons. Here are a few more pics of my Bianchi Limited.
There are other Bianchi gurus out there that know waaaaay more than I.
But here's what I've found, regarding the Japanese builds, based on the ones I've owned.
Japanese builds tend to have the 2nd letter of the serial # as an 'S'.
My Limited is AS11939
My Sport SS is LS329595
(Another is hanging in my garage, but its -2deg right now... and not inclined to take pics of it at the moment!)
The Limited is 100% stock, and is a mid-level component build.
My Sport SS is an entry level build. Although it has a mix of Shimano 600 and RSX brifters... those were added by a previous owner.
The entry level builds had 27" rims and a flat kick stand plate welded by the BB between the chainstays.
Mid and upper build had a 'brace' instead.
Here's 2 pics of what I'm talking about:
