Just bought this Colnago frame set for $125 . I figured it was well worth it for the bb and headset alone. I have no clue what the model is so if someone can help me with that, it would be appreciated, thanks!

$10.00 1977 Nishiki Inernational with a bent fork. I figured it was worth buying for the spare parts and bar-cons. It also has a classy budweiser water bottle.

I picked this up at the recycling depot for $20. Its been re-badged a but according to Marinoni it is not one of his.
With the exception of the Campy seat post it is totally French. any feed back on a possible ID is appriciated.
(Ive made contact with the original owner , his name is engraved on the seatpost , he suggested this bike is actually an 'Elvish'.)

I picked up two bikes this weekend. One was a made in Taiwan Sanwa 215, cromoly frame, alloy rims, low end components. Paid typical donor bike price for the Sanwa, will either use some of the parts to complete my Centurion Mixte I bought earlier in the week, or clean this one up. I am leaning towards using it as a donor for the Centurion. The Sanwa looks pretty decent in the pic, but it has some significant paint loss on the frame (but no rust!)

The other was a modern bike, a Trek 4500 MTB, paid typical garage sale price for that one. Should help fund my hobby. Already have it on Craigs List.

Actually IMHO the used bike market in the Boise area is quite competitive. I feel very fortunate to have scored the fleet that I have. I also have 2 Hard Rocks, a Schwinn High Plains, and a coulple of 24" Diamondback mountain bikes (I still have four young teens at home, so most of the bikes get used).
My bigest problem now is that my loving Wife (and I really mean that) has laid down the law "No more bikes until you sell some!"

OK, finally found something half decent (OK, pretty low end) at a local thrift store. Its been a long dry spell. Fortunately, garage sales finds have improved.

Anyway, picked up two KHS Town and Country hybrids. Both need grips, tubes and a general cleanup. Tires look OK (better on one bike than the other). Although I usually avoid hybrids, since these were priced lower than usual for a thrift store, there should be room for upside (and I have been running low on inventory).

My Trek 4500 posted above has moved on to its new home. That was quick, I guess I priced it too low.

Couldn't believe my eyes! She said she didn't have the time to mess with Goodwill and I was welcome to it.
I don't remember seeing a lot of 5 speeds Breeze models,only singles and 3 speeds.

Hey guys my first post. I have been in this hobby 6 years and I am 17. I have 500 bikes. Now that I introduced myself.

The 5 speed breeze was only sold as a 5 speed in a 24 inch model in 1975. Also they made a boys version of a speedster as a 5 speed for only one year too. Cool bike.

By the way you guys have some great finds. I have had a few good ones but never knew what i had until I sold them. Oh well. Thanks Matt

I don't know how much the Schwinn lettering quality on the chainguard varies, but last summer I acquired a 1968 Breeze, on which I touched the "Breeze" name and wiped it off. The paint was little more than chalk. I was not happy with myself, as I've heard somewhere that the name on the chainguard can become fragile.

My first ever trash pick-up:



It's a 1980 Sears Free Spirit 10-speed, 26" wheels, Ashtabula cranks, Shimano FE front derailleur, Positron II rear derailleur. The frame looks like something I might have made in seventh grade metal shop. Aside from the incredibly spartan construction, the striking thing about this frame is the complete lack of braze-ons. Even the derailleur cables are attached with zip ties.

Quite honestly, I think the previous owner may have made the right call putting this thing out with the garbage. But as I'm new to the hobby (I bought a '77 Gitane a couple of weeks ago and have been quite inspired by how well it cleaned up), I figured this will be a nice bike to practice my skills on without fear of destroying something with any intrinsic value whatsoever. I'm hoping I can salvage the wheels and maybe try my hand at redishing and making it a fixie.

That is the best kind of bike to start working with, plus low end beaters are very nice to have around. You never feel that bad if it gets wrecked or stolen. Plus chromed steel is the easiest to clean, degrease and soak it in vinegar for a couple days.... Rust free with almost no work.

Well after a very long dry period I am getting a few bikes thru a trade on CL,one is a Columbia 2 seater and the others are a matching set of mens and womans Concord Pacer 2 10 speeds loaded with such goodies as,racks,speedo's,baskets and the biggest seats I have ever seen,Should take delivery on Friday.

Second mixte find in a week from the local thirft store. This time a gold Bridgestone "shica"?? It's hard to make out the name from the script used. It's a tiny 50 frame, with Suntour VX, alloy araya 27's, and 4130 tubing. It looks like a late 70's guessing by the components and rims. Forged drops in rear, too. $9.72 with tax. Rims are as straight as can be, no wobble at all.,,,,BD

A little research revealed it is a Spica. Who could have known by reading the small odd script on the seat tube? Easily the hardest to read model name in bicycle history, lol.

I hauled a Giant Acapulco hardtail home from my brother's house a couple weeks ago. His boys had outgrown it, the left seat-stay was bent, and it's been leaning against his garage for a couple months.

Last night I gave it a test-ride after a rebuild. 50' down the road and I knew it was a nice ride. Too small for me, it's going to a kid who needs a bike.
