Nishiki NFS
 

Hi hope all are doing great!!! Can anyone tell me the differnces in Nishiki NFS bikes? What are the differences from NFS Alfa, Beta, the Altron.. ?

any and all help would be great!!!!

The Alpha and Beta had the same frame. The Altron had a similiar frame but the downtube was ovalized. All three used 650C rims, not 700C.
The Beta had 105 components, the Alpha had Ultegra components. Otherwise those two were identical.
The Altron had Ultegra components, but came with Profile Aero bars and those distinct, Tri-spoke composite wheels. The Altron had an Ultegra head set, the other two had a standard head set.
Anything else you want me to add?
EDIT: The Alpha and Beta had chromed forks and the Altron had a painted fork.

Hi Thanks a ton for the info. I am away from the frame right now but I have a Nishiki NFS. I have just the frame and the only decals on it are on the head tube and down tube. I can see where NFS should be on the top tube and that there should be another decal on the top half of the seat tube. I have seen a few pics of these bikes but none that show clearly what these bikes look like in those areas. Know what was there ? I would love to put this one back frame wise to what it was new... I can get the serial numbers would that help? The frame I have has chrome forks.

It would help if you could tell us what color the frame is. Better yet, a pic of what you have. I know Nishiki made the NFS in the following colors, yellow, gloss black, royal blue, red, orange and very dark gray. The decals varied slightly from year to year and slightly from model to model.
