74 Raleigh Pro Track, almost
I saw an ad on CL last night about 10 minutes after it was posted. E mailed the guy and got a response with phone #. I was the 2nd one to contact him.
Talked to him for about 20 minutes and he seemed nice and normal. He said he had raced the bike in the 80's and just wanted to get rid of it now. I said, "for $97?" He said yep and told me if the first guy didn't want it I could buy it at 1 pm Saturday.
I emailed him back and said I would paypal him to make a deal now. He said a bunch of people wanted the bike but he didn't respond past the first 2 and he'd let me know.
End of story is I called him today and his brother decided he wanted the bike so that's where it went.
He didn't seem like he wanted a CL bidding war but in the ad he also was selling a Colnago for $1000 so he must have known what the Raleigh is worth.
He could not have talked about his racing the way he did if he didn't live it.
Oh well.
