dunelt 10 speed
 

I have a '66 or '67 Dunelt 10 speed with butted reynolds 501 tubes, all Campi running gear, weinman 999 brakes, broooks saddle, factory engraved handlebars,
and a hand pump. It's blue with red and white accents. When new it had white plastic fenders and black vinyl mud flaps. I think it may be the only one in the country as no one ever has actually told me they have seen one like this. Can anyone offer any info?

I've heard of Dunelt 10-speeds and I do think they're quite rare, having been introduced near the end of thier existence. I believe Dunelts were mostly English 3-speedtypes (and maybe some singles). My Dunelt is a '54 model 3-speed (can be seen on www.oldroads.com. I don't know anything more about them.

I don t really know why but I have an idea that Dunelt Cycles were built in Scotland. I certainly know the name and that they go back for quite a number of years -- perhaps 1950/60s

Dunelt was from Dunford & Elliot, a company that manufactured motorcycles
back in the early 1900s till mid 1950s. Their bicycle line was bought up
by Raleigh at some point (not sure of dates here). I've heard of
some 10 speeds built with reynolds tubing, but they seem as rare as
hens teeth.

My '54 Dunelt was actually built in Birmingham, not Nottingham, England. I think my bike was made before Raleigh took over.
