Desperately need a Steyr Headset

My 1980 10 speed needs a new headset...I bought the bike at Sears in 1980 after a mark down from $250 to $75, Sutherland's manual lists it having a 26.7 mm crown race, 30.8 cup diameter. My measurements are a bit different: 26.8 mm crown race, 31.0 cup outside diameter, but I'm going with Sutherland. The threads are a weird size: 26 mm x 1.0 mm and the stem 22.0 mm outside diameter. I started riding about 3 years ago. After my son used it during college, it looked ready for the junk yard. But with all Shimano "Tourney" parts, I knew it was a keeper. Took it apart, had all the steel parts powder-coated, then clear-coated. At 35 lbs, it's ride is far superior to my Specialized carbon fiber. I HAVE to keep this 10 speed sweetheart healthy. I'd give an arm, a leg, and my first-born (kidding) for the headset, or even another same-bike-for-parts if one is out there for the offering...anywhere.

Steyr is/was part of Puch Austro-Daimler Steyr of Austria. Puch was selling Japanese bicycles to Sears back then. Some of them quite nice.

Bob, welcome to bikeforums!

I have a Steyr Clubman I've been planning on selling in spring. Would that have compatible parts for your needs? Send me a private message if you'd like to discuss.
