    Installed Cyclomondo Decals

Got Mondia decals from Australia today, installed them with the very helpful instructions. Phenomenally high quality, just gorgeous, really exceeded my expectations. The trim at either end of the seat tube panel and the down tube decals are metal foil, very nice, the picture doesn't do them justice.

I did a wet installation, fwiw. Pretty easy.

    Looks good.

You should cap off the chrome on the stays with a yellow stripe to match the lugs.

I was thinking about that. A narrow bit of yellow electric tape, or is that too cheesy? Or just mask off a band and brush paint?

No No! Just a little pinstripe at the end of the stay on the dropouts.

Yeah, that is what I'm scared of, doing pinstriping, but I suppose I should give it a whack.

Ok, like this? Just did the chainstays, to see if this is the right weight before doing seat stays.

looks great! My Bianchi decals should be there any day now. Any directions online about the "wet" application? I was thinking about it and I'm really concerned about putting them on crooked and not being able to fix them..

Any auto parts store should have some, 5 min job, looks good and holds up well.

Thanks for the feedback on CycloMondo. I'm currently trying to decide between JR and him on a restoration.
It's difficult when you have two excellent choices.

The ones I got from Cyclomondo had detailed instructions, but basically it amounts to wiping down the area with a very dilute water/dish soap mixture before applying the decal. This makes it a little less sticky (temporarily, until it dries out), and you can noodge it around a little bit or even take it up and reapply.
