do I need a rack with my basket?

This seems like a dumb question, but do I need to support my front wicker basket with a rack? I don't remember ever seeing that done but for some reason I thought it was necessary.

Well it probably depends how you intend to use your wicker basket. If you're going to routinely put things in it then a rack to rest on would make the basket last longer and would make your bike handle much better.

What else would you do with a basket?

Nevermind, it was a silly question

Well, if you carry your favorite puppy in it, I would.
Or a gallon of milk.

but not your lunch. that sounds ok.

Sounds like a good idea, but fairly ugly.
