I have a mid 80's Bianchi limited that sat in the basement for 20 years,Can't remember the exact year I purchased it.
celeste with black forks and chainstay, Doesn't have the black ingraved headtube, All original including tires in pristine shape
except for some seat wear and the leather straps on the peddles were rotted so I took them off. The bike had about 2 years
of usage before it was put away and forgotton as I didn't have time too ride anymore.
Don't know why i'm posting this LOL, Dug the Bike out last year And it's so pretty I would never think of getting rid of it.
If anyone is interested in seeing it I'll take some pics and put a link up.

Here is a pic of the bike my camera battery died before I could get more, you can see how the die on the saddle has worn down too the
leather, other than cosmetically the seat is in great shape.

this is interesting. where is this bike inthe states? Europe? I never recall seeing a limited (is that hwat the TT says?) in the Arginten color scheme. is that 600? that is another odd thing. here in the states the decals would indicate a '88 or later bike and I think the limited would have tricolor Ultegra/600 on it.
great looking Bianchi though. does not seem to have seen much use.

I'll have to do some research. here in the states I believe the x-4 model was only made a few years, off and on at that. the only Argentin model I ever saw cataloged was the '88 Trefeo commorative model. it was a great looking bike but nothing special. not the X-4s that I have seen in catalogs were nice but often the only real difference between it and Mondiale or Supper leggera was the stay caps and the leather handlebar tape. maybe a touch more chrome but that was about it.

I only road it for 2 years It's a mareno argentin Limited, I purchased it new at the Yellow jersey bike shop in madison wisconsin, It's possible it's a 1988, I just
can't remember the year I bought it. It has Shimano 600 components with indexed shifting, Ambrosio 19 super elite rims from Italy, selle Italia saddle.
The stickers are in Italian but I can read columbus on them so I'm guessing that's what the Tubing is.

I know not everything that gold sold back then was cataloged and this frame may have been some special Reparto Corse thing in '87 or so but it is not any special anniversary bike as the seller claims.
it does seem very clean for bike of that age I don't understand why it isn'e selling.

Perhaps the seller hit the zero key one too many times and meant 10th anniversary.
Also, here is a page that proports to show an 1988 SLX frame with the same colors and decals for an Argentine X4:
https://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/my_bianchi/algentin.htm
May be genuine; the seller may just have a few of his facts mixed up.

OH PSS I checked again and the ony X-4 I see for most of the '80s is the '87 and besides the SLX vSl frame and custom Bianchi anodizing of the C-Record group it is the same as the Mondiale
as for the link, judging from the script 'Bianchi' on the stay caps it appears to be a nice frame but the poster does state that it is a replica. and the fact that it is not original is obvious by the component choice of '92ish dura ace STI this is nice looking bike though. again I know there were bikes/frames that were made and sold and cataloged but proving the bike is what it is reported to be is a big issue.
I could repaint my '87 Sprot SX, put a Chorus group on it and call it a replica.

In addition, Sheldon Brown's web site mentions that the 1987 Argentin 'commemorative' bike was not in US Bianchi catalogues, so it would be interesting to know how the seller came to own the bike.

I think generally we're in agreement. And it would be nice to check out the seller's "original documents" or at the very least, get a pic of the brake bridge which should be panto'd with "X4."

personally if I had one such frame I would not repaint it until the last square milimeter of paint was flaking off

is it somrthing wrong here! same bike in different area!
I am not sure what the deal is with this bike. I never saw a SLX frame in the catalogs with those colors and decals. the seller claims it to be a 100th Anniversary bike but it has the "Campione del Mundo '86/'87" decal that Bianchi started applying in '87. olus the 600 group looks newer than '86/87 or even '85 with was the 100 yr Anniversary.
I know not everything that gold sold back then was cataloged and this frame may have been some special Reparto Corse thing in '87 or so but it is not any special anniversary bike as the seller claims.

I could have gotten into Bianchi in a big way if Peugeot did not catch my attention first in the 80's.
I suspect that this particular Bianchi is like the equivalent of the PX-10 or PY10-FC?? Maybe even more specail??
Could we say that Bianchi is like the "Peugeot" of Italy, as they seemed to have had the highest production volumes coming out of Italy.
Like many, I first thought the Celeste color was strange, but It really grew on me that for me, Bianchi = Celeste forever....

aaaah.. i can't believe i missed out on all this.. i m ust have turned off notifications to this thread somehow..
i actually ran across that bianchi from the new york CL and wrote to the guy but never got a reply back.
it indeed looked like the X-4 that i was hunting for (albeit a little small) and i didn't understand the shimano groupset it had on it either.
i had asked for more pics as well, but again.. no reply from the seller.

I am comp stupid. Will see if I can get the wife to do so. It about as near to mint as you will get.Built it with Dura Ace which was the 1st or 2nd year it came out.Unlike in earlier post the forks, stays and head tube were done in black matallic paint not black chrome. All engravings or casting, which it has many including the X4 in rear brake bridge are highlighted in gold. It is a stunning looking ride.
