i'm no expert, but there is no Reparto decal on the left stay, so that could be in question also. did Bianchi make a non-Reporto TSX frame?

i saw this on ebay a few times, and the guy (i think out of Germany) was adamant that it was 'all original' but it's obviously a repaint and a restore with sourced parts (e.g. brake levers are wrong, not cobalto levers). IMHO the frame would have been worth more if left alone. whoever went through all that trouble and spent all that money on that nice paint job and not get the correct period decals??? DOOFUS!

There were a number of examples of X4s (even the team bikes) that never had 'X4' stamped on them. THEY ARE ALL X4s! They are all the same frame. the only difference is the added embellishment in the lug set and paint. as for your Taiwan friend's X4 frame... yes, that is a repaint. it's looks nicely done but it's definitely not original. it would have been worth more if he hadn't repainted it.
That's fine. So they are all X4s. Although I'll agree with him that those that actually say X4 on the brake bridge would go for a higher premium than those that "just" say Bianchi.

If someone wants to pay extra just to have that X4 stamp so be it, it's their money. Some of Moreno Argentin's own bikes, and the bikes of the Gewiss team, didn't have X4 stamping and are way more desirable IMHO. If your friend thinks those frames aren't X4's he's an idiot. Mine has a very rare brake bridge style and paint, but it was a ex pro team frame. It is beat up but that's because it was raced and even now I still ride it as a single speed. There's no way I'd ever get it repainted.
Wow. Why all the anger? Thanks that you feel so proud about your bike. Perhaps if your bike had "X4" on it instead, you'd trash talk owners of non "X4" bikes. "If", "then he's an idiot?" You need to get a life and relax.

Bianchi (Reparto Corse X4 Argentin) Cinelli?

Fascinating read All.
The opinions, thoughts, & images are certainly feeding my OCD!
This is one that caught my eye recently. The previous Euro owner says it's an '86 Specialissima X4 Moreno Argentin out of the Reparto Corse workshop. What I'm most perplexed about is the Cinelli stamping under the BB (serial # F030) and what looks to be a welded race number holder under the TT. Can I get an opinion on this frame please?
- No clean shots of the Panto on the head tube
- Seems to have the internal cable routing
- Don't know enough about either of the black or celeste paint to tell
- When it was last built looked like it had the proper CRec groupo.

More pics here.

Thanks!

Is it legal to reply to a 10 year old thread? I came across a Bianchi X-4 Argentin today (pretty pricey tho) as I am hunting for my first vintage bike (I know.. it escalated quickly ). That bike looks to be in really good condition (seller claims its all original, including panto groupset)

Curious if the OP managed to find one in the end? Looks like a pretty incredible (possibly frustrating) hunt!

(I'll post link after I hit my 10-post limit
