I just got back from the Pedaler Bike swap
The best thing I saw was a Rivendell frameset in my size. I could only find one chip in the paint. It was dark metallic green with a cream headtube. I thought $950 was a fair price, but I wasn't prepared to spend that kind of money today.
There was a black Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub for $180. The shifter and other hardware was another $80. I'm tempted to go back for it.
I bought some Tektro inverse levers and set of Tektro Dual pivot brakes with just the mismatched reach that I need for the Raleigh Competition with 700c replacement fork I'm building.
It seemed like everybody was talking about the "fake fixies" that a kid was selling with coaster brake hubs. They had the clean look of fixies, but with the practicality of a brake. The hardcore fixie riders didn't approve of course. Too bad they were rattle-canned junk frames. I didn't see anybody buy one.

Glad to hear a report! I was planning to go, but couldn't make it in the end. I think I've seen the fixed gear frames you're talking about on CL once or twice.

I was there, too. You could have shot a cannon through it and not hit anyone. I saw the Rivendell frame, and in fact bought a new Campy cable set from the guy that was selling it. I paid $25 for the cables and a few bucks on a some other knick-knacks, but there really wasn't much there.
Luckily, The Valley Spokesmen were having a swap close to home (Dublin), and it didn't start till 1pm. Got lots of schwag there, and free lunch (leftovers from the Cinderella Century the day before). Ultimate workstand for $50, NOS Cinelli bars (44mm dual groove), tire inflator, a nice warmup jacket, and other neat stuff.

The pictures poste made it look huge. I was bummed I missed out, but at the same time it's an hour drive for me.
I'll definitely be at the Cupertino swap though
