This might be a spoof. The number is from Burbank and is registered to a "Christoph" so it might be a prank on "harley"

I just bought the bike for 800 dollars and I got a brand new fixie 4 a present from my friend and now I am trying to sell it for 650 dollars. I just got brand new rims and brand new treads and I fixed everything up and it runs smoother than what you would buy from a store. this bike has 7 speed gears and it has front and back brakes with front shocks as well. it's yours if you want it for 600 dollars. if you are interested call me at 8182099911 and ask for harley. Please cash only unless we can work out something else.

Oh really??

feel the frustration

Quote:
Earlier this evening (July 20th) I caught a gentleman trying to steal items from my shed on Spence st. Shortly after I chased him away I realized that he had left a bike leaning against my house. Im guessing that it is stolen from my area as both tires are flat, so he would have walked it. This was between 6pm and 7pm. If the bike is yours, just kick me a message describing it and its yours. I would really like to see that this bike gets back to its owner! Thank-you.

Wow.........I woke up this morning, grabbed a coffee and checked my messages. 15 responses for bikes stolen out of my area alone. Another 2 from out of area. All stolen within the last 3 days. Whats wrong with this picture?!?! If you work for the justice system and are reading this I have some advice for you. Get your butt off of the computer and do your damn jobs that we pay you to do. You should be ashamed of yourselves!!! To add insult to injury.....when I called the WPD to pick the bike up, I was told that it would take up to a week before an officer showed up to retrieve this stolen bike. I'll bet that if I took the time to beat the ever living snot out of this thief rather than just chase him away, that the WPD would be here in 5 minutes to arrest me. Un-freaking real!

First time I've seen somebody use the Bikes Direct "list" price to pimp a pre-Bikes Direct brand bike.

Never seen such a modern Mercier either... it's got bars like the Team Miyata did in the early 1990s.

Mercier Paris Roubaix with all Shimano 105 components - $499 (Derry)

Date: 2011-07-21, 11:45PM EDT
Reply to: sale-efshc-2473426992@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
This bike is an older version of the Mercier Corvus which lists for $1595 (http://www.cyclesmercier.com/models.html)
Frame is French made of Vitus 888 chrome molly steel tubes and measures 60 cm from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube.
Scott handle bars. Specialized seat. 14 speed.
Sold without pedals, but I have Look (pictured) and Shimano SPD pedals available.

this dude may or may not have just gotten his license back after a prior DUI... ?

I love the "curled handles up for easy griping"... I would definitely gripe about upside down drop bars...

This one... seems a little suspicious to me. Just me?

http://barrie.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...dIdZ284481146#

Or on the legit side, maybe someone realized they were developing a bike-related hoarding habit and wanted to nip it?

I've bought out a couple people who were terminating their addiction - it proved quite profitable.

That's not a crazy price. If that was on Ebay, I'm pretty positive it would sell for something like that. An owner's manual can quickly become the "icing on the cake" for a minty Stingray Krate.

Pretty sweet 3-speed Raleigh Collegiate. Well, they got one out of three...

Vintage Raleigh Collegiate - $250 (Chapel Hill)

I am selling a vintage 3 spd Raleigh Collegiate that is a solid bike but needs a little TLC. I was going to do the work myself but I am heading back to school and don't have time.
I am happy to sell for parts or for someone to recondition it themselves. The price seems high for it's condition but these bikes go for $1000's on ebay to vintage bike collectors.
No haggle price.

Motobecane bicycle for sale. Was manufactured some time in the seventies. Has the original tires (they still hold air) It belonged to my late wife and has been in storage nearly twenty years. It is in perfect shape, just needs some tlc. A young man offered me $800 for it a year ago but I said no. I thought that is was worth more, I still do. These bikes can bring $2500 and more. Well I need the money now so. . .. . .. . .. . ...
$500.00 obo

Sigh....

Given that it's a horrible pic, and it might just be distortion......but don't the forks on this bike look seriously tweaked? Especially with the slight rake on the bike...almost like the front end has a slightly smaller tire(not enuf rake to be a special purpose racing bike that has a huge intentional rake)

Nah, look at the sidewalk to put the bike in scale. I'd check it out for the Brooks.

Yea, you're probably right. I think it's that lower body line on the car that's throwing my eye off.
