That's a premium price on the bottom-end of the 531 non-butted Raleighs. Might as well just buy a 502.

For the flag list seller, just send him his own text, and buried in the middle add "I have cash and can be there in an hour" just to see if he catches it.

There are so many scammers on CL these days that I'm about to stop using it, but free is free.

Same here. Maybe it's just the time of year, but lately all I seem to get are spam emails and emails from people that want to email back and forth twenty times and then flake out when they're actually supposed to come see a bike. Almost never happened to me before but it's happened 3 times over the last two weeks. It's actually making ebay look appealing.

Except for that whole buyer protection, seller's funds delays, iffy money back judgements, mysterious issues with shipments and condition as received vs. condition as shipped. It's become very difficult to even list something as a local pickup cash or postal money order only option.

There is some other on-line classifieds site linked through one of the LBS's that I want to find again. Otherwise I'll wait for Spring to spring. Or maybe be one of those people who have a garage sale with craigslist/ebay pricing on my items and peeve off all the shoppers who show up looking for a $5 bike and find it priced at $100 or more.

End of March, early April, I'll sell everything I've built on spec over the winter. Last year, 10 bikes in 5 days. All for asking price, no hagglers, not a single no-show.

That's why the only thing I sell the rest of the year is build-to-order bikes. Too much foo-foo, lots of repeat ads for crappy bikes, etc.

Cruising eBay, I came across this listing for an Extra Small size 2010 Schwinn Sprint, but the photo is of my Large size 2010 Sprint I took of the bike against my back yard retaining wall in 2010 the day I brought it home from Performance. The seller has 100% positive feedback, but why would he use my photo instead of one of the bike he's selling? Mine's clearly not an extra small frame. Using a photo of a large frame bike to sell an extra small frame bike is at the least pretty misleading.

Here's the eBay listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Schwinn...-/290675596040

Here's my Velospace node from which he apparently swiped my photo:

I feel like they've never actually looked up the definition of "budget".

This entire ebay store is just painful to browse.

Looking at the other pictures this guy has for items I see why he used yours.

If you don't want people "stealing" your pictures don't label them or let them be searchable by those labels. This guy obviously searched for a picture of his bike and used yours when he found it.

I contacted him through ebay saying he used my photo without permission and because mine is a large and his is extra small the photo could be misleading for potential buyers.

I'll give him a day to reply before reporting him for violating the rules.

The flippers here in SoCal are driving me crazy lately. I went to look at an SR Gran Course a few weeks ago. Listed on the site as a "Shimano 200gs" bike. It should have been all 600 arabesque, but the front derailer was the the 200gs element. Both arraya wheels had been replaced with no-name non-matching wheels and the front crank had been changed as well. She wanted $75 and wouldn't come down so I walked. 2 weeks later, same bike - all the guy did was change the bar tape and he's asking $200 for it.

Today - Fuji Touring Series IV. Guy wants $220. It's clear from the pictures he didn't clean it up, the sprockets and derailers are all greasy, the tires are worn out, the cables are rusty - again the only thing he did to it was change the bar tape. If he had taken the time to clean it up and put a matching set of tires on there I might have given $300. But in it's state I'd be looking at completely stripping it down and rebuilding it, I don't think it's worth what he's asking. Sad thing is it will probably go and quickly.

Don't fret. The seller is just having a flashback to their AMC Javelin AMX.

The AMX "is" VERY FAST" if you know how to operate it. That amount of power with a short wheelbase can scare the crap out of you. Having a two door SUV with a 360 and Limited slip rear end, I can relate,,,,BD
