Since I got another obscenity laced tirade (via ebay, he doesn't have my email, thank god) from him, referencing the work of "published experts" who he did not name and threatening me with expulsion from ebay (for what? Telling him what his bike is?), I don't know if I'd bother. The seller's connections with reality seem tenuous at best; and given the "experts" likely don't exist and ebuy wouldn't know what to do with his vile compositional style if he complained, I'm not particularly worried. But I'd limit contact with this fool, and certainly wouldn't do anything that would give him an actual email addy.

Now the Colnago seller, I dunno about him.

A new GMC Denali type bike to watch out for, oh Joy:
    http://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/1204948785.html

    Compare:
    http://www.amazon.com/GMC-Denali-Roa.../dp/B000FDDWB6

    http://www.abikestore.com/Merchant2/...Store_Code=abs

A bit more expensive. Probably cost more to lease the Lamborghini name than the GMC Denali one.

Jesus Christ Does Anyone Know How To Spell? (NYC)

I am constantly amazed by the lack of grammar used here. Does anyone know how to spell anymore? Have we all turned into imbeciles? These rants and raves are entertaining and all, but Christ it's hard to respect anyone's opinion when they write like they have both arms tied behind their back and are typing with the end of their nose.

Somebody in Munster, IN is selling a Miyata 210 for $300

    http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/bik/1204947319.html

and some of YOU are endorsing it:

Here's a really nice Miyata touring/racing bicycle from the late 1980s last year I had it checked over and "tuned up" by a good bike shop in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, my back can't take that kind of activity anymore, so my loss is your gain - just in time for the start of summer and lots of fine biking along the lake in Chicagoland or in your neighborhood! Please note: we can arrange to deliver this bike to Chicago & suburbs if you don't have a vehicle that can carry a bike; just ask.

Some of its features: * Miyata CroMoly bike frame * Miyata 1024 High Tensile Steel fork * "Two Ten" model number on cross bar * Suntour ARX derailleur * Dia-compe brakes * Campagnolo crankset * Araya 27 inch by 1-1/4" w/o wheels * Sunshine front wheel release * Custom pedals * Sakae Randnner handle bars * Avocet Touring - WWII seat Color is a metallic fleck charcoal black. Measures approx. 54cm from bottom point of frame straight up to cross bar; or 21.5" from midpoint to midpoint. That makes the cross bar about 32.5/33" from the ground to the middle/top of the bar straight up from the ground. Seat as currently set is at 37" from the ground.

Don't know much about the Miyata 210? There are more expensive Miyatas, but the 210 is a really great bike with a lot of good features - it is well regarded by other bikers as a nice, fast bike. Here are some reviews by other riders for the Two Ten (210) Miyata:
These remarks were found at bikeforums.net:
    * 210 was the entry level touring bike. ..... I picked up a 1985 210 earlier this year. It is neither light, nor is it especially heavy (i.e., it's just inbetween in a good way). It rides quite nicely (surprisingly fast) even when it's carrying several pounds of stuff. When I want to cover some distance, and want to be comfortable, that's the bike I use.

    * I have a 1988 215ST, and the frame is triple butted Cro-Mo.. The fork is Mangalight. The bike weighs in at about 27 pounds, and I have 1,000's of comfortable miles on it - it is an "all day" rider. It is a very nice riding bike, and despite being on the "lower" end, is very well built.

    * I rode a 1986 Miyata 210 from December 2004 until about the middle of this July. The 210 was indeed the bottom of the Miyata 'Grand Touring' line, but by the mid 80's it was an excellent bike - full chro-mo frame, with triple-butted tubing in the main tubes. The differences between it and the 610 and 1000 are mostly in the details, though the 1000 (and possibly 610) had splined tubing, in addition to being triple-butted. Personally, I loved my 210 and thought it was a great bike. It was around 28 lbs, stock, so it was no lightweight (especially not with all of my additions!), but it was still reasonably speedy and nimble while also being a comfortable ride - lots of fun. Sadly, I rear-ended a Chrysler this summer, and it was enough to tweak the head tube area of the frame, so no more Miyata for me . ...... I would say go for it, the 210 is a really excellent machine.

This listing doesn't have quotes, but has a link to Fixies forum.
Starting bid of $2800 for a re-painted Richards Sachs.
Two craptacular photos. He nabbed it from some grieving widow.
Cha-ching. Flip it on the eBay.

I saw this bike and sent him an email. It said "If you're going to ask $500.00 for a bike, put air in the tires." No response yet.

Well there you have it, thanks for the tip! I had no idea. The bike in question is grossly over priced so I doubt I'll be making a move on it but I was curious because I had never seen nor heard of a vinyl brooks. Perhaps I have lead a sheltered life.

I need to get me one of them Italian Fuji's

    http://montana.craigslist.org/bik/1206760439.html

This is an original Italian made racing bike. The condition of the bike is good, the handle bars might need new wraps put on, otherwise it rides great. This would be great for a person who is a collector of original racing bikes. The brand of this bike is Fuji. I paid $500 for this bike. The price is negotiable.
