And the CL one has bar end shifters, a rack and bag to boot. You could pick it up and make a 900% profit selling it on ebay.

Anyone need a pile of scrap metal? I love ads like this because you just know that bikes like that awful Huffy road bike in the foreground of the first picture are what this guy considers an "expensive and collectable antique."

This may or may not be the place to rant but...

I am ABSOLUTELY TIRED of seeing "Disney Princess" bikes for sale on my local CL.

That is all.

Great starter road bike 58cm - $225 (North Raleigh)

Giant (Kronos) road bike in good condition. Durable bike with Aluminum frame. I spoke with the guys at Performance Bicycle and they said the frame will last as long as you own the bike. I've used this bike to train for and compete in 2 sprint triathlons and it has been very good to me. Comes with a computer. I'm selling this because I've decided to take the next step and purchase a more expensive and higher performing bike.

Did you catch it?

The aluminum frame, or the saddle that's worth as much as the bike? Both of them are kind of funny. It reminds me of sellers at the flea market, saying a bike was aluminum because it was so light. I guess they couldn't wrap their head around steel = light.,,,,BD

Princess bikes are bad, but this one takes the cake. I corrected them twice via email, and they don't listen to facts and reason.,,,,BD

If you bought new tires, and some oil, you'd already be spending three times what you could buy it for at a resale shop.

Might be a nice Masi (hard to tell from the pix), but perhaps a little overpriced unless it was Faliero's personal ride:

Scooper posted this a while back.

Stem shifters were a factory option in the seventies.

Here's the 1972 Order Form. Note that under P15, Item 4, control options, "Schwinn Twin-Stik" is a no extra cost option.

"Very good condition"
Men's Bike - $25

Hi,

This is for Men's Bike:

Asking $25 Or Best Offer.
-- I am doing lower pricing because I must move! --

This is a Huffy I think, and it is in good working condition - including the seat.
It does have orange paint, for it was used as a sign, but works great!
(I would assume that could be paint-removed and/or painted over.)

In the picture, it is the one hanging on the left.

Very good condition. Actually, I think I had even replaced the tubes not too long ago - within the last year.

A truly horrible before and after. The sad part is that it looked to be in amazing condition before being "restored" and "custom painted". Good thing it was a traveler though. If it was a Tenax framed bike or better, I'd have given them my opinion openly and freely, whether it was wanted or not,,,,BD

I'd pay $225 for that giant. Nice size in the middle of the bell curve of height distribution, name brand parts and a frame from a manufacturer that's still relevant. Seems solid to me.

Does this mean the frame won't last any longer, since he's selling it?

+2 Since Paramounts where basically order bikes not stocked by most deallers during the 70's you could order one set up with just about anything in the Schwinn dealers catalog. It is rare to see one with drops and stem shifters though most of the ones I have seen with stem shifters had upright touring bars.

This is a trully horrible looking bike its as if the builer set out to spend a tone of money and make the bike look as bad as possible well at least it is only a Traveller with 105 stuff. It could be worse the seller could have gotten a decent frame and some Campy stuff to wreck.

Hey, a new term for destroying your frame: shaving

https://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ453706944

-shaved 58cm bianchi brava. This frame has had all cable guides, shifter mounts, and dérailleur hanger shaved. Frame will need to have the sanding completed ( about 75% done now) and new paint or powder coating applied, but will make a beautiful clean light fixie when done. $110
