Its worth every penny and then some. F&F is worth $450+ on its own then add up all the individual components and there's a nice profit!!!! While CL is primarily a local sellers and buyers market place, its also a national market place.

For instance, I could have someone 'facilitate' the purchase for me.....

I fully agree with this...one of my MAJOR pet peeves is someone showing the entire bike, but only selling the Frame/Fork...if you are only selling the Frame/Fork, show the pics of it!

[QUOTE=sloar;15934016]pretty cool bike, except the dia comp brakes, crappy saddle and ugly handlebar tape. i've never heard of franklin bikes. price seems a tad high. the all new super 531 aluminum frames.

Franklin is a fairly well-regarded framebuilder: http://home.windstream.net/franklinframe/

Hers yet another one that defies logic. A rebuilt Varsity for $399, with two of the best features of the Varsity's the nice paint and chrome pretty much wrecked. A supposed knowledgeable dealer of vintage bikes is selling this one.

But it has 2040 hi resiliency steel tubing! That's twice as good as 1020 hi tensile, isn't it? And it's a *SUPER* mirage with *SUPER* champion rims! We should be honored that he let us see even dirty, rusty pictures of it!

I thought this was worth a good laugh.

[h=2]Trek Singlespeed (Satan's Singlespeed) - $125 (Blo-No)[/h] +-

craigslist - Map data OpenStreetMap

Speed. Comfort. Handling. Safety.

This bike is none of these. You're looking at a wolf, a feral dog, a shark. You don't ride this bike: it rides you. You must respect this bike as a lion tamer must respect a lion; a wild, powerful killing machine. This bike will not stop. It cannot stop (the one set of brakes are too weak). But, would two brakes be sufficient anyway? Can you throttle such unadulterated strength? Daring to yoke this steel beast is tantamount to slinging a collar on Cerebus, the guardian of hell. If you do--if you dared--you, my friend, would perish.

Fire is the bike's blood, an infernal furnace of destruction and wanton carnage. A bloodlust. A lone wolf, this bike does not tolerate groups, or the herd, or the pack. It feasts on its lesser kin: aluminum? A snack. Steel? Breakfast. Carbon? Oh, do not allow this around carbon. Carbon bikes may prance and sprint, like the lithe antelope, but allowing such gaiety in its presence leaves nothing but a horrible scene. Shattered carbon, mangled components, tattered lycra: the Beast devours them all with Abaddonian alacrity.

Woe to ye who might try to challenge this wretched and terrible bike!

No gears, one rear brake, no mercy.

Damn for a orginal resotred bike it seems to be missing a lot of stuff. Front DR notice the front DR cable to nowhere, cheapo none orignal rear DR. Missing fenders, chaiangaurd inner chainring, kickstand, reflectors and most likely lighting package. These may seem minor but If I pay top dollar 1/4 the asking price. I would expect the bike to be complete and orginal just not fixed up with this stuff througn away to make the restore easier.

This is why I don't consider parts over 25 years NOS they should be sold as used with a good description. Basicaly if it is that old it is not NOS just very good. Just IMHO if a part hasn't been in the same ownership and is over 25 it id used not NOS. NOS is a over used and semi meaningless turm.

The stem shifters, dropouts and that crank are disgusting......

This may be equivalent to putting new rims and tires on something like this:

Probably rattlecanned the wheels.

Hubs, pie plate and rim profile look correct for original wheels.

Well it is still a Grand Prix and I like these but I was hard pressed to get half this for one full rebuilt with Raliegh brandred VX components, with nice 700c alloy wheels that matched built fitted for the bike.

"one of a kind' = nobody else was dumb enough to build it, let alone ride it (or be seen riding it).

And "turns heads" = in the same way as Joseph Merrick's remains did.

I can see it now. Just imagine the shock to Tad and Muffy as they ride past (on their $6000 tandem) down the tow path through Pittsford (or Brighton).

"Dearest, I hope that miscreant doesn't crash into us."

"I hope likewise, though he's certainly crashing into bad taste, isn't he?"

"He must be from Buffalo."

Rare Italian luged frame from the mid 70's. Campagnolo Record drerailleur's, shifters, Stem, and Handlebars. The brakes, cranks, and wheels are different makes. All parts are in good shape. New tires, Bar wrap, brake pads, and Brooks saddle (not a tensioning type model). Bike rides great, I have put about 50-150 miles on it since buying this past winter. The frame has some signs of wear and minor surface rust that has been treated.
24 1/2" (61cm) Frame size
33 1/2" stand over height.
I am 6'3" with a 33" inch inseam and this bike fits me well.
Selling because I have to many bikes and I don't ride it as much as I should.
Come Check it Out. I have a few more Bikes of different sizes that all could be for sale.

$400 (OBO) Reasonable offers only PLZ.
You can call me or text for a faster response @ FourEiegthFour/8Eight0-11Two5, Just mention the Doniselli.
