I spray can painted a bike like that once. Except it was solid yellow in the front with b/w stripes in the back. I called it the bumblebee. Of course I was 14 years old and that was 40 plus years ago. I probably thought it was super duper cool then too.

Reminds me of the summer I spent in Somerville, MA (Cambridge-adjacent), a couple times I saw "cheap funky green limousine" driving around, it was covered in astroturf and had that advertising slogan painted on the windows.

I remember seeing a process called "flocking" in my old Hot Rod magazines! It involved a positive charge and some "flocking material". Kinda cool!

I just don't think it could get weirder than that. I hesitate to post this one (that can't compete), but the photos of this innovative setup are worth seeing.

Nishiki Road Bike wish Shimano Ultegra and extras

This is an 80's road bike that has great potential to be an amazing ride for somebody out there. The derailleurs are good, wheel set is good, tires are fair, frame is in good shape, brakes are in good condition. The main thing that needs work on this bike is the handlebar, shifters, and brake levers. They are all there, they just need to be rewired. A local bike shop should be able to do this for not too much. (Bikers Edge in Kaysville quoted me 20-30 for the cables and the labor.) The handle bar is a unique aero-bar that will need to be wrapped and set up with a shifter set, or replaced with a standard handlebar set.The rear derailleur is Shimano Ultegra. The front derailleur is Shimano. I also have a Shimano Ultegra crankset if you want it. There is the option of either the original shifters with Shimano breaks levers, or Shimano Ultegra shifter and and break combo. For a shop to do all the work will cost closer to $50-60 not including the price of a new handlebar set and wrap.
Please call or text anytime!

Seems pretty whacky wierd to me if the bike could be sorted out as cheaply as the seller say's why has it not been done. I would figure several times to qouted price to have a shop sort everything with the STI's if there working correctly which I doubt.

If it was turned around, that'd be a pretty cool looking squiggly fork. Also, is that a leather saddle? $100 sounds like not a bad price (if you are big enough for a bike that tall)

Here is Hubris.

I don't know the maker, a quick google search shows that they made some TDF bike back in the day. But this isn't one of them, but it is priced like it is.

Yes but its Free Shipping.

I think the high price is so it won't sell, and then he can justify keeping it to his SO.

An easy question to answer. Most thieves operate at night, and they can't steal what they can't see.

But it also makes you less visible to motorists on a ride.

And the brand is "Mouton Cadet". Kinda says something about the intended market when they name it after jug wine...

This always gets me. Seller won't even expend the energy to take the bikes down from the rafters. So you know the tires are flat, bikes are dirty, probably been hanging for years. Asking premium prices too. So, does the buyer have to take them down to buy them?

Yeah the pricing seems very ambitous based on the add. I volunteer at a free bike coop and theres a 50/50 chance that either of these bikes would end up in the strip/scrape pile. I for one wouldn't waste a more than a couple of minutes or dollars on either of these bikes.

The hung upside down ones are even more sad.
