I'd have taken the group off the bike.

cannondale road bike broken frame - $200 (cambridgeport)

Great parts bike. Wheel set alone is worth the asking price. All shimano components. Worked great before I broke the frame.

Vintage Trek Single Speed (58cm) Reynolds 531 - $275 (Westchester)

https://newyork.craigslist.org/wch/bik/2343721110.html
Date: 2011-04-24, 2:29PM EDT
Reply to: sale-rgg8r-2343721110@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Vintage Trek Single Speed - Reynolds 531

If you know about vintage Trek road bikes, you probably know why they have such a following after all these years. Made of top-of-the-line tubing, these bikes are case studies in quality and lightness. This particular Trek is no exception. The Reynolds 531 steel tubes make it a lightweight. With its single speed set up, it's perfect for those looking for a low-maintenance machine to get from point a to point b. At 58 cm, it's best suited for those 5'9" - 6'2".

Riser bars provide a nice, upright ride that let you keep close watch on city traffic.

A new brake lever is tethered to a vintage Shimano 600 brake. There's even a salmon Kool Stop pads in there that gives you serious stopping power even when the streets get wet. The gearing is something like a 14/52 or thereabouts, making this a bolt of lightning on flat roads, but you'll need to man up on the hills.

Nearly new tires lace a pair of alloy rims. As you can see, the paint job is far from perfect. If you're looking for a shiny new paint job, this bike is definitely not for you. The paint job reflects about three decades of use.

There's also a ding on the top tube. It never bothered me, but some people freak out over dings, so be aware that this frame comes with one.

The bike can be seen conveniently in Larchmont, 30 minutes north of the city, two blocks from the village's Metro North Train stop.

If this isn't what you're looking for, let me know and I might have -- or be able to build -- the perfect bike for you.

Please respond with a phone number and when you'd like to take it for a spin. Thank you.

I am not selling who bike, just parts

Frame comes with original components:
Sugino seatpost
Shimano 600 Bottom Bracket
Cinelli Handlebar Stem
End Zone Racing Saddle
Shimano 600 Headset

Frame is made out of aluminum so it's very VERY light. Top tube size is a little over 31 inches. Was a road bike but has been stripped and converted to fixed. Excellent conversion frame for those who want to a sturdier lighter frame. This bike is a classic and was the best around its time and still is a great bike. Bike has top of the line components.
Bike Serial Number is: 56030989048.

Also selling:
Shimano 600 Crank set alone that comes with pedals and toe clips for $50. Crank is made out of titanium and is in great shape. Cinelli Aluminum Drop down bars. 26.0 Clamp $30 obo

Am willing to sell all bike with frame, crank set, and drop bars for $160
All you would need is wheels and a chain

SERIOUS BUYERS Please contact me at 818 792 3800 to take a look at the frame or if you have any other questions. I am not looking to trade, cash only. Local pick up only. Am open to offers.

Wow, titanium...

That's a Raleigh Technium. No big deal.

As for the Cachet parts swap..That's been going on around here for a while now. Nothing new.

Surly Steamroller Fixed Gear - $315 (Belfast)

Date: 2011-04-28, 5:27AM EDT
Reply to: sale-yatqb-2350574212@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Surly Steamroller – one of the few bikes made specifically to be ridden as a fixed gear with big
tires (up to 38 mm), no rear brake posts, and horizontal rear dropouts. This is the ultimate fun
city bike. Instant acceleration because it’s a fixed gear, no clicking of a cassette spinning, less
weight without all those extra shifting components. Dura-Ace front brake and level. New bar
wrap. Big platform pedals. Special upgrade fork. Not sure of the exact size, but I’m 5’9”. $315
OBO.

This one cracked me up
https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/2348129344.html
Like, um, just because you were in the Peace Corps I'm supposed to give you a free bike now that you are home? You don't have the money it would cost to purchase the 200 bikes posted today for under $100? What did you do with the pile of money they give you when your term is up?

Hey Folks,

Not long ago, I returned bikeless to Philly from Peace Corps Service in South Africa, and I'm in need of a bike I can use to commute and run errands. Really, I'd appreciate anything I can get--mountain bike, road bike, etc. I can even make use of decent bike parts to build one up.

I live in the Northwest, but can arrange to pick up whatever you can donate. I can be reached easily via email. Many, many thanks for your help. [For a little enjoyment, I attached a photo... In case you didn't guess, I'm the white dude standing awkwardly in the middle, at a Swazi wedding party.]

Andrew

Isn't that the same guy who is always posting in here with some scam to get guys to give him free parts and he's going to raffle the bike off to charity?

^ meh, it's better than the guy who continuously posts ads every two days saying he's looking to spend up to $50 for a bike so he can "commute".. then later you will see him listing bikes for sale. at least he does keep the prices reasonable
