The fact that the shifter levers are just floating around and there is a zip-tie on the back wheel where what looks like the original vendor tag once sat makes me think that this seller is selling a bike that isn't even rolling. They picked it up and carried to the spot where they took the picture. The bicycle is not fully assembled.

Could be the seller stole the bike out of a showroom or a warehouse and is selling it. Anyone who has even a modicum of knowledge about bikes would not let the front wheel and forks sit backwards like that for a photo so that rules out a bike shop or bike shop employee selling this bike. The pedals are probably walmart specials because the seller felt there needed to be something on there and the bike "came" without pedals.

This ad screams HOT to me.
The ad claims the bike was won at a raffle. Makes sense; they tend to give away crap bikes. It was never ridden and just stuck together by someone who had no bike knowledge or intention of riding it.

First of all, i tried to define the term "lowballing" for you, but i guess you can't read cause you keep accusing me of lowballing. The original price was 260 or so, i seen the ad up for a while so i offered 200. if i offered half the price of the 260 we could say i'm lowbaling, but $200 is not a lowball, 99% of people on this site would agree is a legitimate offer. Also i did not tell this guy how much his bike is worth, so don't try to put words in my mouth. The seller did not mention that he/she did any work to the bike, so i'm putting forth an offer to compensate for any other work that maybe be required later on judging from the pictures.

Negotiation is just a part of the buying process unless you like paying full price for everything. I believe it's part of that age old system of what we call the barter system, i'm sure you may have heard about it in school. Negotiating has gone back since humans were created. A lot of bikes on this forum were negotiated on price and offers were sent through emails to obtain them.

I sell bikes too, so don't think i'm a "rookie". I've done over 25 bikes this year, and each and every customer was happy, everything from 2-300 dollar bikes to 800 dollar bikes and even to the 2200 dollar range. I've gotten great email responses and can definitely post them for you to read. I believe i'm one of the better bike flippers where i live, cause i actually do work to them, everything from wheel trues, cables, bottom bracket maintenance, greasing to you name it. I also charge a premium for stuff that's done by me. Sure i don't have khatfull's skill or drillium dude's skill with their amazing polishing and drilling jobs, i have respect for them and what they can do, and i read their threads trying to learn or emulate what they can do. I believe i can hold my own when it comes to getting a bike running and looking in great shape when it came in looking like it was on it's last legs. Devinfan on this mb had seen my work and can vouch for it, and a few other people on this site have seen what i've had to offer.

I get offers like this all the time, but the easiest thing i've done is counteroffered and believe it or not, sometimes the offer works and i get what i want and they get what they want, or i move them into another bike i'm selling that they may want in a lower price bracket. Sometimes people are just looking for a bike and they don't know what it's really worth. (maybe you can learn from that, sometimes you have to take a negative situation and try to turn it into a positive one, instead of eliminating your chances of a potential buyer, but it's ok, maybe you're new to the game or new to business in general. I worked in professional selling for most of my life so maybe that's why i get it, or maybe it's probably just common sense.). (Sometimes you can't always stay positive though, as long as you gave it a good try, but don't take my word for it, you could be negative all you like. It may not get you far in life, but it's your life to live, i'm not your mother or father.)

so once again i've included the definition for lowballing for you to read, please scroll about halfway down the page and actually read it this time, or a couple of times, submerse yourself in the words and please make sure you understand it:

Lowballing:
2. (Business / Commerce)
a. a very low estimate or offer

here is a link: https://www.thefreedictionary.com/Lowballing

also incase you have difficulty reading or interpretation stuff in my previous posts i have provided this link as well.

https://www.hookedonphonics.com/

and if you got problems with math and numbers i hear this one works out great.

These worked great for my cousin and i hear great reviews about their systems.

I must now go work on replacing my BB on my pinarello, just got it in the mail this morning from Germany off fleabay, i'm excited and can't wait, nothing like making your ride more smooth and buttery.

If you have anymore questions and concerns please leave me a reply and i will definitely try to help you out the best i can.

Stay positive,

- Andrew

Gotta wonder about this one. I don't see a "scammer" but just an opinionated person who's offended the poster:

SCAMMER ALERT (foxvalleyvintagevelo)

Reply to: sale-bbkzt-2528350707@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
So I respond to an add https://appleton.craigslist.org/bik/2472147355.html
and this is the response I get

"I'm looking for preferably older vintage stuff. Nothing with cottered cranks or 27" wheels. No Shimano, Sugino, or Suntour unless it's Suntour Superbe Pro components. It doesn't need to be ride able. Nothing with triple chainrings either. Brifter equiped bikes are fine. Just no Japanese stuff basically. What kind of stuff do you have? Preferably frames with Columbus or Reynolds 531 or higher. No welded stuff, just lugged or fillet brazed. Don't mean to be picky but it's what I like. "

NOW! I'm selling a Bianchi https://appleton.craigslist.org/bik/2504774746.html and this is the Email I got from the SAME person

Subject: Fwd:: Bianchi - campy

Theres a reason this bike has been on CL for like a year now. People want a Celeste Bianchi and not a light cream one. When someone thinks of Ferrari they think of a red. Vice versa with Bianchi plus that Campy group isn't rare or that desirable to collectors. I hate to burst your bubble but this is a case of someone who thinks they have a diamond but just has a cubic zirconia. Not to mention the tubing is Columbus lowest line of just cromor(chromoly). Lower your price and maybe you can get more interest then just tire kickers. The longer you hold onto it the less it's worth as vintage bikes are not holding their value as they brought a few years ago. I sold a 84 Bianchi in the same tubing with spotless campy nuovo record and not the lower triumph or un original sansin wheels like on yours for 350 less then a month ago. But I get your the type of person who is willing to hold it until you get the price YOU think it's worth. So here it is still for sale and will continue to be until your actually negotiable on your price. Bringing it down to current price from your so called joking seven hundred'ish price you had it at awhile ago is still over priced. Best of luck!

and my response

The reason its been on craigslist so long is I live an hour away from Oshkosh and Wausau and NOBODY has come to look at it.

I have friends that have been in the bicycle industry for 20 + years that would have bought that bike as soon as I was willing to let it go IF it had fit them, 1 of them quoted me it was worth $1000.00 (few years back in way better economy)

As far as Columbus tubing being the lowest line of chromoly?? I'll buy every Colnago Master,MERCKX,MASI, MOSIN, etc etc frame, frame set, complete bike, based on that statement for what??? $100?

My bike is a Pearl White not Creme, as far as the group being rare or collectable I'm not a collector so you might be right, but - they only made it a few years and that was 20 years ago, but what do I know

As far as the Matrix wheels - still race ready by todays standards and have at most 100 miles - probably worth $200 to someone restoring a high end Trek from the 80's

Using a name like foxvalleyvintagevelo and making idiotic statements about Campy parts and Columbus tubing tells me your just out trying to flip bikes for a profit and your doing that by any means you can, even if it includes lying to people to get them to sell you bikes cheap.

Expect to see a copy of the Email posted on Craigslist to WARN others about how you operate.

OH WHERE DID YOU SELL THIS PERFECT BIANCHI NOUVO RECORD ????
I'd like to see it

BY THE WAY DO A EBAY SEARCH FOR "FOXVALLEYVINTAGEVELO" AND YOU'LL FIND OUT I'M RIGHT HE/SHE? IS NOT A COLLECTOR - JUST A FLIPPER AND LYING TO PEOPLE TO BOOT!!!

Let's see. In the past: fatally damaged bikes, damage un-noted; selling walmart bikes for 2x what they're worth, absolutely no bike knowledge... I'm pretty sure I don't trust his wrenching skills, since they're harder to get than internet search skills. From:

I'd do some CL policing, but I'm worried I'd scare off my entertainment...

If someone disagrees with me in an email, I just don't reply. Not that I know everything about bikes, although I do know an Aerowind wasn't the first Huffy road bike.

As it should have. I didnt think "Ferrari" when I bought mine in 85/86..I thought "holy grail" and didnt give a crap if the bike was purple......it was a Bianchi, w/Cmapy parts.. I bought it from a bike shop...thats all I cared about.

This one goes in the, "What the heck are they smoking?" category. Knock the zero off of the end and you're getting closer to reality.

Speaking of Huffy Aerowind bikes....

They didn't come with aero water botles, but they did come with real suede on the saddle. It was an Avocet, though uncomfortable as hell. I'd give him $40 for the saddle that's on that hideous example of an aerowind, hehe.,,,,BD

I know Toronto prices are higher than the majority of cities in North America, but even this is pushing it a little.

Foxy offered unwanted advice and got the typical response. In his defense the seller's bike does seem overpriced and the seller didn't understand the nuances / pricing of various groupsets and the hierarchy of Columbus tubing. On the sellers side a full NR group could be sold at $500 so foxy may have underpriced his Bianchi.
