This one is far from perfect but has a lot of life left in it. The frame has about as much nicks and scratches as you would expect from a 25 year old bike. The only major problem right now is the outer chain ring (the larger front gear) is bent and the chain catches when you pedal. You may be able to replace the chain ring itself but it would probably be worth replacing the entire crankset and bottom bracket. I don't have the tools or the patience to do it myself or I would have repaired it.

I wonder why he didn't use the brazeon?

That bike doesn't look too bad with some work. Looks like a clamp-on cable guide on the DT, might have lost the under BB guide?

Oh, hell no. I'd go $250 tops, and that's assuming 1) I collected Ross bikes (which I don't) and 2) I had money to burn (which I don't).

Ross may have made some good bikes (particularly the mountain bikes named after specific peaks, and also their Signature series) but the majority of what they made was lower-end, designed to compete with Schwinn's gaspipe offerings.

This is yet another example of Budget Bicycle Center influencing peoples' pricing of their vintage iron. BBC has a few of those bikes similarly priced, and they've been up on eBay for months.

I used to have one of those very briefly that I got in a Goodwill in central Va. I cluelessly lost it it about a year later in an alcohol induced "adventure".
Kinda sad - those were pretty good bikes. Some were built from Tange Prestige, if I recall correctly.

I rescued one of those frames from the trash on a wild guess it was worthy of saving. Have no clue what to do with it tho.
Depends on what it is and how much it weighs. Add some brake adapter plates, 700c cyclocross tubies and drops, and you could use it for gravel. That's probably what I'd end up doing. Bianchis were always pretty sano.

Good god, that's hilarious! Glad I wasn't drinking anything as it would have gotten spewed all over my monitor in convulsive laughter!!!

Maybe the seller considers that RD to be one of those newer "low profile" rds?(as in lower to the ground....) (Looks like that rd has one of those shift helpers on it, too.....gee, I wonder why?....lol)

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/3971882762.html

This bike new would be, oh, one million dollars!

Great racing bike, sponsor by Crest comp.excellent shape, ready to ride, 21"frame 31"walkover, 700 CTL-370 alloy rims, made in Japan, quick release front and rear wheels for easy transport, shimano rx100 derallieur, Sakae handle bar, extra wide no slip pedal, extra lite alluminum frame great for hgts 5'7 to 6'2 great price, racing bike of this quality priced at 2300 and up must see, call for appt. John@804-xxx-xxxx
I get making up a price, but why not go all the way?

And don't get me started on the fitting advice-- at 6' 2", if I rode this bike, my knees might hit my chest when pedaling.

Okay, not an atypical ad, we've all seen the like... I just gotta roll my eyes though.

Herses yet another annoying overpriced FG conversion. What makes this one really wacky is the dealer selling it is selling nicer new ones for less money.

I believe I flipped one of those for $140 (gave them a $10 discount). With this years prices I could get $200 for it. It was actually rather cool and my size - I was tempted to keep it a while longer. Chrome calls me

Well, he fixed it finally, but it's still missing a rear whee.

Also, what's with the misplaced sense of arrogance? "Lowballers will be ignored." So we're supposed to be mind-readers about what this guy is expecting to rake in from this sale? Or maybe he thinks it's still worth close to $2.4K. The thing is beat to ****, with missing parts.

After adding $200 in wheels, etc. I could sell for $500. Flag him, CL is not an auction house - not a make an offer site.

As is with no wheels $200 or so is more realistic. There are very few good reasons for a bike like this not to have wheels. Plus with no wheels it is hard nearly impossible to proberly check to make sure everything actualy works. Without wheels they guy is just selling a bunch of scetchey parts.

More hipster fixed gear you-have-to-be-kidding-me pricing examples -

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3893047241.html

Rampar was Raleigh's incontinent crazy auntie that lived in the attic. And, really, did you have to black rattle-can everything in sight?

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3882235237.html

Color-blindness is a prerequisite for center-city PHL.

https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/bik/3957321826.html

Not fixed. It doesn't appear to be a Kia POS either. Also, hipster i-device Engrish isn't English.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3945187693.html

"Custom" = BMX parts and black rattlecan primer, haphazardly applied to a $50 garage sale special.

I know, we see these all the time, but I've never seen one priced at twice retail:

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/3924659807.html

$315 GMC Denali. Either the seller beleives the turd they found is secretly gold, or failed "How to use the Internet" in grade school.
