I suspect the ad writer is telling the truth. Whatever planet they were on when they wrote that add probably has a pretty weak gravitational field.

It's refreshing to see truth in advertising.

A real Piece of Shat Motobecane - $25 (Pilsen/UIC)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
This little vintage hipster single speed has clearly seen better days, but it will ride, so I decided to post this rolling deathtrap up on here and see if anyone might want it. Nothing works correctly, the frame is beaten and dented. It survived a toss off an overpass (long story). The front wheel wobbles and will probably fall off at some point mid-ride resulting in severe injuries for the rider (It could be you!). Now for the good news.. It was made in France (This is a big deal in the world of the cool kids) and I only want $25 bucks for it.. So if you have a terrible mustache and avoid bathing like the plague this could be right up your alley. If you want to take this complete and total piece of garbage off my hands give me a shout.. O btw I will throw in the dead fern free of charge..Thanks!

Mystery Solved!

STOLEN BIKE -Mystery Solved-

So you may have seen the ad that I posted about my bike being stolen. Well it turns out, I left it at a friends house. So all I can say now is....OOOPS! Oh well thanks for lookin out. And don't be alarmed when you see it up for sale because now I have to sell the thing. $165 if you're wondering and it rides sooo well!
I can't help but wonder if this is some lame attempt at "marketing". Or there's alcohol involved in this mystery. Or a bit of both.

I saw this too, and yeah, I'm on the "alcohol-related disappearance" side of the jury. Probably has to sell the bike to make restitution for the rest of his blackout.

At least half of Montreal craigslist/kijiji could qualify for this thread with their delusional pricing.

[h=2]2 (1 Panosonic/1 Lotus) Racing bikes - $175 ((Fishtown) Philadelphia, PA)[/h]

I have 2 racing bikes for sale. The first is a red "Panosonic" racing bike, the other is a pink "Lotus (Triomphe)" bike. They are both lightweight, the Lotus weighs a little more than a 5 pound bag of sugar. I am asking 175 for both, or 100 each. The Panosonic needs two new tubes on the wheels, and the Lotus needs a new chain. These bikes are in great condition. Wonderful for racing, converting to "fixies," or just trying to get around. I am located on the Fishtown side of the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania near Frankford Avenue. For inquiries, please call 215-563-6795 and leave a message; or send me an e-mail, we will return your call or message promptly, thank you. Trenton Avenue at East Sergeant Street

Not sure of the maker of the bike, All i know is the old roadies are always eyeing it up, telling me it's a sweet old ride... I've looked up the components because they are marked, the group set will sell for 3 to 4 hundred bucks! not to mention the chain checker reads 1/4 stretch!!!

everything on this bike is top of the line in '76. full disclosure i paid 20$ at a yard sale, i now see that just the cassette may be worth hundreds... I have the skill to restore it, and i feel it is worth it to do the work. the bike is just dirty, and honestly 1/4 stretch drive train. buy it before the restore and the price will reflect, if i end up doing it myself, i'm gonna make a killing on etsy or ebay. i really would rather let it go, but, hey... seems like it could be one hell of a good project I'm SO happy!!! seriously, 20 bucks. and i though it was a "decent" deal. LOL i won.

The Lotus actually looks like a pretty good deal. Nice frame with decent wheelset ,Brooks saddle Campy components looks very good for $100. I suspect it weigh about 20lbs more than a 5lb bag of sugar though. This is one nice bike in serious need of rescue from it's current owner who has no clue lumbing it together with the POS SS is just sad.

Yes, twenty pounds more than a bag of sugar is what that Lotus probably weighs. Must be the new math kicking in. I feel a little bad for the forlorn fixie, though - The Pan-O-Sonic was probably decent prior to being bro-converted.

The cluelessness makes perfect sense when you consider the zip code there in Philadelphia. Fishtown and NoLibs are currently home to aspiring artists, community activists, philosophers, amateur musicians and those that cater to (and know how to exploit) young skulls full of goo with inflated self-worth. At least the bikes are appropriately priced... Normally the Pan-O-Fix would have at least two hundred dollars and a case of PBR tacked onto the price.

I'd have bagged the Lotus myself if I didn't already have a project underway, and the bike had actually fit me.
