Flipping a Magna

I saw this gem at the Goodwill last week for $10. This week it's on Craigslist for $100! The seller is so anxious to flip it, he photographed it right after he cleaned it up with a hose.

It's 3 better than an MB3. How did they come up with MB3?

I flipped one of those. It was a nice daily rider. For the right price someone will be happy.

RARE Vintage Rennrad Colnago Mexico Oro 24K Gold Edition Columbus Racing Bike | eBay

would you spend that much money on this bike and put midrange shimano on it?

something looks off about this bike, decals don't look right weight, and the fact that he's running sora shifters is kinda a joke.

Was there really a 24k gold edition of a racing bike?

There's a Colnago hanging on the wall at West End bike shop, that looks like a real vintage version of that bike? Bronze and gold looking paint with a fade job, and drilled Campy bits all over it. All the Campy has an orangey gold finish on it. pretty bike, but doubtful if it came that way?,,,,BD

Are you thinking it's a homemade job? Krylon makes a pretty good "18k" premium gold spray paint.

Yeah, look at where it's flaking off the brake tracks- it looks like some ham-fist just spray-bombed the whole thing with gold paint, even the spokes and nipples. The funny thing is that some boobs bid it up over $1000 already!

Should someone notify eBay? Those "boobs" might also be shill bidders. (Note the 0 feedback score for the seller.)

The seller is "rome-slat" with zero feedback. The most frequent bidder is "r****t", also with zero feedback. eBay didn't seem to have a category for misrepresentation of the item. Presumably, if they investigate, they will also check for shill bidding.

(I notified eBay.)

Zero feedback on the seller as well...another indicator...

Stay away!

I thought they did away with the ability to self bid from the same account. Or are you just saying that's likely because they both have zero feedback?

Yeah, that seemed strange to me as well. I inferred zero feedback + starts with "r" + ends with "t" implies the same account.

I really hope whoever that high bidder is doesn't have to follow through on the purchase of that POS bike.

shills set up multiple accounts and pose as different people to try to beat the system. If patterns like this are recognized, eBay can take actions like deactiving as many of the fraudster's accounts as they can find.

I had my bike stolen form me while coming home from work earlier this year, and the would-be thief dumped it a few blocks away because of the flat tire.

The back of the seat tube is gold and from the side it looks like gold overspray. FD is "gold" and RD is not and how do you plate aluminum alloy? Pedals look like some $15 rat traps from ebay.
