I got hit by a car. The front rim is messed up, but the fork is good, as is everything else. I do have a new rim, but you will need a new tire. It has a great Brooks saddle. It is a large bike, in fact it is a great bike. I just got a new one from the guy who hit me.

The price must have been determined by the number of chain links used.

Custom Chain Bicycle

Custom Chain Bicycle - $1000 (St pete)

this is a bicycle made from a chain.
although this is somewhat of a rideable bicycle it is more of an art piece.
I welded each link one by one.
extra long chain
ape hanger bars
custom painted and polished wheels
new tubes and tires

this would be great in a man cave, bike shop or even a resturant as a decoration.

$1000 obo

just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

(heck, if someone doesn't take that for their signature, I'm going to use it for my own.)

so many people are doing this kind of thing better on the RRB forums, and even selling them for way less.

Vintage Columbia Tourst - 19" Frame - Project Bike

"If you're looking for a fun bike project before Spring hits, this is the bike for you. This is a vintage Columbia Tourist cruiser bike. It's one speed and the frame is 19". It's a true project - brakes aren't connected, there's a good amount of rust, needs a new chain, and I'm not really sure what else it needs. The bike seems simple enough to figure out though. I bought it over a year ago with the hope to work on it (as my first bike project) but I got busy with work and never had time. So, it's been sitting in my garage and needs a new home."

The seller of this bike is in Dinkytown which borders the University of Minnesota. Must be a college student. Hopefully a Freshman.

Thanks for the translation. I don't expect a literary masterpiece on CL, but I would be nice to understand the text.

College student? I would demand better from the 8th grade students I taught (no, not language arts) many years ago in my former career.

Seems like I read something a while back that the downfall of Rome began when the citizens could no longer read the inscriptions on the monuments!

Everyone makes mistakes but is it really that unreasonable to expect capitalization and punctuation?

I got hit by a car because I decided to ride like a chump and ran a red-light. The front rim is bent. The front fork might be bent as well, but I'm hoping nobody notices. I have no mechanical skill to speak of, so I can't zip-tie swap the old rim with the new one. It has a front brake that doesn't work (which is why I ran the red light). I did the conversion all by myself, with some help from Mommy. It's a great bike, because it's old and whimsical, and the frame is too big for me. Take my word about it being good, or it may hurt my feelings. I are a college student and I live in Dinkytown, which is a zany name for a town. The new bike that the Somali taxi driver bought me has a padded seat made in the People's Republic of China. My butt doesn't feel good against the Brooks saddle, which I paid a lot of money for. I want to get at least $200 for cocaine and beer and maybe an art-history book or two, so the price is firm.
/fixed

At least he doesn't call it a Merckx bike.

If only I knew that a few stickers made a $5000 bicycle.
He should point out that Simplex made some of the lightest weight components of the era

^ It's worth it because it came with turkey levers and a dork disc. Those cost extra, man.

Sweet Bike.

It appears to be the Cannondale CERV 2022.
Cannondale's Chainless CERV Concept Bike Transforms as You Ride It! - StumbleUpon

The question is whether this is a one-off prototype, or a low production bike.

If it is "real", then undoubtedly $5K would be an excellent deal on the bike.
However, it is very suspicious that the only photo in the ad is a Cannondale publicity photo.

Plus, there is no mention of Cannondale or the model in the ad.
