I was thinking that some of the bikes may be drifting down to a "reasonable" value around here.
Well, until I found this one.
Great 80's/90's style 7 speed bike 400 OBO - $400
I'm guessing the "OBO" will be disappointing to the seller.
I may have to check out Simply Cycle, but no matter how well "restored" an old MTB is, it is still an old MTB.

It looks like it was a moderate quality bike.
The problem is it that a first rate restoration takes time, and costs money. And, it is hard to keep a good budget if the bikes being restored don't start extremely low valued, or very high quality.
So, if it costs $150 to assemble a bike... how much is a rebuild worth? $200?
I have no doubt that many 80's era bikes could be rebuilt as good some of the newer mid-range steel bikes.
Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be one of them

I don't think I've ever seen so many question marks in one ad. But, whatever it is, the frame is definitely either carbon fiber or titanium.
SunTour? World Randonneur?
SuperBe Racing Equipment by Sun Tour?
Bike frame is made from carbon fibre? Or titanium?
Bike's body frame is very lightweight.
Please see photos, asking $250 or best offers. Cash only.

This is a pretty cool bike but $2800 for a basically second tier BMX is kinda insane. These where basically only a $200 bike new.

What about a bike without a "Missy Chain"?
Electric Bike *NEW 6/15** Shaft Drive- No Missy Chain**
I suppose we shouldn't call it the Mr. Shaft though

It wasn't until the mid 70's or early 80's that bottle cage bosses became common.
As far as the bike, probably just 100% chromed.
It reminds me a bit of Dad's old Torpado. Lots of chrome and paint flaking off everywhere.
Are those sewups?
Anyway, the bike has been bastardized a bit, but it is worth a second look, especially if you can paint and detail it. Perhaps the seller would be willing to negotiate.
The bike is probably from the mid 60's, or perhaps early 70's. A little cheap on the dropouts, but nothing too serious.

Those clamp cages were common, and fine. I've had them on my Colnago for decades. Not quite sure of the tubing, but reasonably lightweight (and a couple of small dents not related to the bottle cages).

Oh, does that old chromed 10 speed have a kickstand....
Oh, the horrors.
I'm betting on Italian. Confirm with the Bottom Bracket.

I'm squinting at the photo (eyes are not as young as they used to be) and I think you 2 are right. I had a used late 70's Fuji Grand Tourer (2030 high tension steel) that some one whom had it previously successfully drilled through the down tube to mount the bottle cage. Lots (everyone?) who saw it told me the frame was ruined told me the frame was ruined and I was going to die if I road it. Or even looked at it. I bet I put 6,000 miles on that bike, including 4 or 5 hundred miles of loaded tours.

Oh.. I found this one today
COlNago c59 iTalIA diSc, dUra aCE 9000 HydraUliC-DI2 ZIpP 303 CArBON - $1000
groUpsEt SHimanO durA ace di2 HydRAuliC DIsc, 2X11, 175mm, 50-34 (T) fRAMe sIZe : tRADitIoNAl 58
Wonderful use of caps and lower case.
And, the bike is also available in Chicago, St. Louis, Morgantown, San Diego, and perhaps elsewhere.
As if selling a really expensive bike at a fraction of its value wouldn't get a line of people in anyone place.

Noticing the too-good-to-be-true price and widespread geography of the listings a couple days ago, I assumed it to be a scam. Accordingly, I flagged it in Chicago, Madison, and San Diego (the places dailylister.com found it).
