what did you use to verify its precision?
I have been looking at getting a hanging digital since all i have is a triple beam, it doesnt work well for anything assembled.

eddit: also what is it's resolution?

I used a 25lbs bag of rice to verify the scale. The resolution is to the hundredth of a pound. Another thing is that it is repeatable. I weighted the same item a few time and each time the scale gave the same read out.

I have no idea on the Look and Lotus, never having had either of those, but I'd be shocked if the Raleigh and the Moto are less than 27 lbs.

No love for the moto and the raleigh huh?

Here are the results:

Kind of disappointing. I was hoping in the 21lbs range.

Disappointing too. Hoping in the 22-23lbs range.

My guessimate was about right. The 1st gen ergo and the extra long SR stem weighted a ton.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys. Without the fenders, different seat, the Nitto Technomic, and lighter tires, I think the moto should be a sub 25lbs bike.

Here is a few more frames for you guys.

Early Moto Grand Record, 531 tubing, 57cm, upper race and lower cup attached.

Early 90's Specialized Allez, 54cm.

2001 Fuji, 853 tubing, 56cm, upper race and lower cup attached

I need to get one of those. I'm pretty sure I have 2, sub 20lb rigs. Would be nice to confirm it.

Kel, you really know your stuff! Lets get your weight weenie bike on the scale.

GR: 6.5
Allez: 6.0
Fuji: 6.0
Thats a little on the heavy side.

Where did you get the scale?
$7.50 with shipping from ebay, batteries included. I have to make the "V" hanger though.

FWIW, my 08 Rockhopper Disc weighted in at 28.75 lbs. Surprisingly light for how bulky it is.

Hmm...MTB eh? One of these days I'm gonna dust of my GT and we'll have to hit the trails! We've got some pretty nice ones around here...I'm not sure your son will enjoy being bounced around in the trailer though!

There are ton of them on ebay. Here is the one I bought from.

https://cgi.ebay.com/40kg-88lb-1-410o...3%3A1|294%3A50

Disclaimer: No relationship with the seller.

Here are the results for the frame:

Weights like a tank.

Surprise! Under 4 lbs.

Without the headset cup and race, should be right at 4 lbs.

In conclusion, steel is real......heavy.

At work we sometimes play guess the weight. But, usually that involves up picking it up then taking a guess. I tend to be the closest almost always. Maybe that could be because I have a scale of my own at home.

Looks more like a Load Master to me.

I was hoping you guys won't notice the mess on the background. Damn, digital camera. Anyway, it is a Load Master. It has not been touch for a few months now, with the cost of bullets and primers, can't afford it anymore. I load only 45 acp. And all my pistols are steel, because steel is real........heavy!
