Child Trailer

Now I know that I will be told that this is the wrong forum to post this in, but this sub-forum feels like my internet home, and any other thread feels like Hell. Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have any child trailers that you would be willing to sell to me. The condition of the vinyl cover doesn't really matter, because I will just end up taking it off. My plans are to convert a child trailer into a flatbed trailer. I am 17, and don't have a car or parents who want to drive me 1 mile to pick up a bike frame, so I figured I would build a flatbed trailer that I could tow nearly anything on. Feel free to PM me if you want to be stealth. Better yet, to be equal to Mr. Bond himself, just click here to email me. Thanks!

I've carried a complete bike on my back with a standard backpack. Removed the wheels and stacked them on the frame, but it wasn't hard. The trick was staying far enough from cars and other obstacles on the way home so I wouldn't clip them. Got some funny looks.

There's one for sale in the IE for $50 but he's asking too much for its condition.
Check CL

I just did this today! No wheels, but a frame with cranks on. It hurts your shoulder after a while, but as long as you're a decent rider, it's not particularly hard.

Austin,

Keep your eyes open for a kid trailer that has a plastic body. I found a trailer with Nordic Track logo on it in the trash and it makes a great cargo trailer with the fabric and frame removed. My other trailer (for hauling my daughter) is a Burley with an aluminum frame. Works great for the kid but wouldn't be as good for "stuff."

make one maybe? I made two from bamboo, but the stuff found around here is not really right for it. Can be made from 1" x 2" wood and some angels for the corners. PM me if you want to ask about some details. Good thing about this design you can make it the size you want and use the wheels you want.

Our local CL here has tons of them, so I'd bet yours has a few. Try to find the cheap ones that were sold at Walmart and Target, they are the big plastic jobs that hold 2 kids. Maybe your parents think your bike stuff is getting out of control. That probably means you're one of us...

Go to CL for bikes, and just keep looking hard. They'll show up....

Dude...I am on it 24/7. Occasionally there will be a new post, but it ends up being a repost. And the best part is this: $150 firm!

Get the wheels off of an old jogging stroller and make one. Check the dump and the goodwill too.

My friend just gave me one and now I have an excuse to buy another bike to pull it! Apparently '87 cannondales are too fat tubed for the hitch and track bikes have too short chainstays!

Look in the garage sale section of craigslist for kid stuff and hit up some garage sales!
