80s ? schwinn super sport I need help from the schwinn experts
I recently purchased a schwinn super sport for $50 and I am really wondering the year of the bike. I have looked at many posts on them, but I cant find any serial or badge # like mine. the serial # is 3E06958 and the front emblem says schwinn on top and super sport on the bottom and has 0783 on it. the bike is black with gold or tan trim and it feels very light, like under 25 pounds. The bike was made in japan. Any and all help from the schwinn experts on here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks buy1or2

Thank you very much for the quick reply. would you happen to know if it was built in the chicago plant, or mississippi? Would it be one of the better ones or not?

I think you already figured out that it was made in Japan. The frame serial number confirms the '83 date. 3=1983, E=April.
Probably not as "collectible" as a '60s/'70s Super Sport, but a better bike overall.
