Falcon w/ Reynolds 531, campy hubs, mavic rims w/ sew ups. wierd mix.
I just got a Falcon bicycle with a wierd mix of parts - it has campy downtube shifters, campy front derailer, shimano tourney rear derailer, mavic rims with tubeless tires laced to campy high flange hubs and campy quick releases, and a brooks saddle with weinmann centerpulls.
Is this a good bike? Here are a couple of photos - I can take more if you need them.
Also, how do I know if it has 700 c or 27 wheels? There are no markings on tire or rim.
And does anyone know if there is a Falcon info website around?
$150 - did I do good?

yep. anytime you can part it out and make more than your money back you did good. Not recommending that, btw. The 531 falcon is a good bike, I think we could tell you more if you could include a few closeups...include one of the 531 sticker.

what kind of crank is that? Is it a TA? That is a strange beast.

Not strange at all -- the British were more eclectic about component selection than Yanks or Italians, and everyone was more eclectic before the heyday of the "gruppo."

I will take some more. The headbadge is awesome. I kind of bought this with the intention of finding a modern group and building it that way. I cannot find any markings on the crank, but it is a cottered crank.
I'm kind of torn as to what to do.

There are all of my photos.
These wheels are smaller than any 27" I have around - I assume that means 700c, right?
Is there a place I can buy a pump to put in the pump pegs?
This one may sit for a while until I decide what to do with it.

700c wheels are the same size as sew-ups, a little smaller than 27". Those look like Tipo hubs. How many spokes? Old English bikes often have 32 front, 40 rear, and it may be hard to find a pair of rims with that drilling.
I just got a chromed steel pump from bikepartsusa, it was under $6, I think. Oldroads has one for $16.95 and I presume you get what you pay for.
Your frame is probably made with 531 straight gauge main tubes, judging by the decal.
If you post pictures of the hubs, derailleurs, brakes, etc. I'm sure people will have more to say.

I'm actually thinking of just buying a set of 700c wheels and keeping these for special occasions.
Thanks for the frame pump info - I'll order one shortly.
I'll take more photos and count spokes.
