My $50 ebay frame arrived today.
Yep, $50 was the winning bid on this rare treasure. It has a few rough spots but is a great rider and dont have to worry about scratching it.
Somehow this slipped by and I won this beautiful 1960's Rickert Weltmeister Subermedaille. It commemorates Rickert wins in the Rome Olympics, and world championships in 61 in Zurich and Milan in 62.
Shipped from Poland it took 3 weeks to get to me. It is SWEET!!!!

I'm excited, I'll keep posting. The frame is a 58 cm with 58 cm top tube, center to center measurements. Relaxed frame angles. 17" chainstay, generous fork rake. And the fork tapers so nice. Should ride great. Lots of chrome on this bike, but its a little pitted and rusted. Plan to build it up with Campy NR cause that is what I have on hand. Weinmann centerpulls. What I need is a nice vintage set of wheels, 5 speed and thinking tubulars.

I think that would be well worth the $50 plus shipping. Some folks pay that much for the BB. What's the tubing? I like it.

The dents are really minor. The camera flash exagerated them somewhat. And besides, any old bike thats been used alot should have a dent or two from handlebar whip. The pulley is pretty cool. Frame also has very simple cable stops for brake cables and front derailleur.

I have Campy NR cranks, derailleurs, and Cinelli bar and stem so far. And Weinmann Centerpulls. Need a Seatpost, have an old Brooks B-17. What I need are some wheels. Been keeping an eye out for some large flange vintage Campy tubular wheels. Should be a fun project.

Look around for some vintage Campagnolo Record hubs. I have a pair from wheels built in 1983, which I only very recently retired and took apart. The Records were/are still in A1 shape. Races flawless after all that time. A pair of those sort would be great! And they'll fit a 5spd. freewheel very nicely.

So anyone have any clues to the date of this frame. The Campy NR downtube cable guide came out in
'69? I think. With the pulley on the BB I would think this bike pre-dates that. I've seen a couple Rickert bikes on the internet with the same decals and paint scheme, but no definate dating. What else would give a clue to the year this was made. Somewhere between 1963 and 1969 is my best estimate.
