I need some filth prophylactics on my bike, but it was not intended to have them. I looked at the SKS race blade fenders, but somehow I feel Ugo would be sad to see one of his looking like an anime rocket ship covered in spiders.
I remember seeing pictures where someone had cut fenders to fit around their calipers. I was thinking of getting some traditional fenders, cutting out a section to fit the brakes, using sheldon's nuts to attatch to the brake bridges, and then U-clips near the axle for a more traditional-looking support than the race blades. Good idea? Bad idea? Will it sound like I'm riding next to an epileptic paint-can drummer? Has anyone else decided they wanted fenders on their vintage racing bike and figured out a solution that doesn't imply spandex fetishism? Thanks for sharing your experience.
