Conversion ideas?

Just acquired this 10+ year old Cannondale mtn bike. It's a CAAD3 frame with a 7 speed XT drive train and specialized crank.

I already have a mtn bike that I ride off road, so I was thinking of doing something "different" with this bike. Like maybe 1 X 7. I have a relatively short flat commute that this would be great for.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance.....

David

If it were me I'd slap some street slicks on it and go! (maybe a new saddle.....and some pedals. )

I think 1x7 is a great idea. Look for some Veloce or Panaracer road tires, pull off the extra weight, and ride it like you stole it, until someone steals it.
