favorite stem ever made?

I just bought mine though I may be trading it for the non track version as I dont have a track frame (almost as pretty). The fillet brazing is amazing, the lug is gerogeous, and the little brass "washer" is a great touch.

these pictures are from the person I bought it from... I am in the middle of moving and havnt had a chance to take pictures yet.

I saw a solid brass stem on ebay once that looked really interesting too

It is a beautiful stem, but I prefer the Nitto.

The clamp is actually hidden in the stem itself. Under the plastic top cap, there is the bolt to tighten the stem in the steerer, and another bolt going towards the handlebar clamp that clamps down on the bar. Very clever design.

I like the way the 3 ttt record stems look but I have never used one. I would like to get one for my Raleigh but haven't really sought it out. I guess I can't claim a favorite.

Wow, thats fancy! maybe too fancy, I'm afraid to know how much it costs.

I like the Cinelli 1a, no photo necessary

Oddly enough I love these SR stems even though they are cheap, its a beautiful basic design

They made another stem under their sakae moniker which was called a superlight or what have you with a face cutout, not that I ever had one they are gorgeous I fine and I'd like to find me one.

I have two of those that are unused. I'm using a Cinelli 1A.

i do love the hidden bolt dura-ace stem's, i think they are the pinnacle in terms of functional (light weight forged strength) design. Of course in terms of classic and somewhat subtle look the cinelli's look amazing (the badge doesnt hurt either).

uh...ok.
But I like the simple, classic Nitto Pearl.
Still in production yet stock on my mid-70s Motobecane...that's a long run. I love the "mitered-in" triangular clamp nut and be-a-u-ti-ful finish!
The pic can't do it justice.

Pretty sweet, but I might favor a GB Spearpoint

or the similar but bent Toni Merkin model:

Just because they are made of Reynolds 531 tubing. Functionally I doubt it makes much difference, but still... lugged 531? How can you beat that?

Easily my favourite too, with the very similar Ultegra. One day I'll find two NOS AX stems...one to go on a bike and one to just look at.
A beautiful piece of design.

My answer is easy, since I just bought a bike primarily because it had one.

Nitto Technomic. Cousin to the previously mentioned Pearl. I know it is too tall for many people, but I like the classic look, and I prefer the extra height.

Yes, those are nice. The front was milled so that the extension could be bored out to make it lighter. The clamp bolt and expander bolt on mine are titanium as well.
