Should i get this? Please anwser soon
Well i mow grass to make money and one of the people i mow gras for has an old Murray bike. When my friend from Europe was here we asked if they want us to fix it since it has some rust and some lose parts but they said that they are planning to sell it so no thanks... But know it has been about a week that they have left the bike outside of their garage over night and when it was raining. I have a felling their plans have changed. My idea is that when i normally mow their grass i get $20. Now do you think it would be a good idea to ask that i will mow their grass once for that bike. Also i don't know much about this bike but it has a complete handle shifter which is weird. How much is it worth?

Also cutting their grass isn't a big deal. About 45 min
Just want your opinion.

Depends on how much work it needs and if you need something to ride around right now. the bike is low-end, and in disrepair. Tires alone will set you back another $20-$30, so you have to figure that into the equation as well.
A better approach is ask how much they're looking to get for it - maybe they only want $10, in which case you pony up the dough and keep doing lawns for $20. If they want more than $20, you offer to do the lawn for the bike.
But in either case, have keen eye for what the bike needs and how much it is likely to cost you.

I am not able to view your pictures. Just going by the name brand i'm going to assume it is not worth much money. That said, if you get it for mowing the grass I would consider that a good deal. Just keep in mind, there is always the expense of getting old bikes in riding condition (it adds up fast!) I say go for it, why not at that cost?
Could you try to repost the pictures?

$20 seems reasonable for that bike, at least where I come from. You might need to do so pretty serious cleaning, and new tires, cables and housing will be a must. Still, that'll work out to what, $50 for a bike. Go for it.

If you get it you should do a search on oxalic acid to treat the rust. I personally prefer vinegar, which is used exactly the same way as oxalic acid. It will clean that rust up fast!
The hub looks like a Shimano 333. I have had good experiences with them and think they are easy to adjust, it seems most people don't like them.

Sometimes those old 3-speeds are quite usable as is. Lube the cables and brake pivots and see if they work. See if the tires and brake pads are hard and cracked or usable.
333s work well in my experience but the shift pawls are supposed to be a bit fragile. You have to keep the cable well adjusted and not powershift the bike much or you'll crack them.
As for the price, any working bike is worth $10-20 but that is not one of the better, collectible 3 speeds.
I had a mens model. You will probabaly have to buy a new saddle or at least a padded cover because those had fairly sharp metal frames and the padding, if it was ever any good, is probabaly dry and flat by now.
They also had a front wheel which you needed a cone wrench to remove. If removed and replaced wrong, the axle bearings will be too tight or loose and you'll destroy them. There are no locknuts holding the bearing cones in place.
The grease may have dried; if you got it I would lightly oil the steering, pedal, and axle bearings. Use motor oil. WD40 is a rust preventative, not a bearing lubricant, though it may help free up that chain.

I think it's a great bike. One thing I like about it is. I see no cotter pins!Hurray for one piece cranks. I have nothing agaisnt cotter pins, well they must have something against me for causing me problems all the time. at any rate get that bike. looks like it will be a good rider.

$20 is a good price if nothing major is wrong wrong with it, (like badly bent wheels) and you are able to refurbish it on your own or know someone who can help you do it. I sold this Murray SS Monterey for $50 as you see it here. (actually, I replaced the cheap plastic pedals with nicer BMX units after this photo was taken) It is a mens model and was %100 ready to roll.

I'd grab it for $20 or mowing the lawn. One piece crank and 3 speed hubs are pretty bulletproof. A weekend of cleaning and greasing and that bike would be rideable no problem.
