Yokota Mountain Bike - 18"/21 spds
Could probably get him down to <$200, it's been listed for a while. Full Deore XT.

I am a sucker for vintage panniers--- these make me want to go out and buy a Nishiki bike just for an excuse to buy them. What's not to love about beige and brown and orange?

Needs a front wheel. Can't tell from the photos what model it is. The Ishiwata tubing says "400 series" to me (I thought 500 and above were typicall Reynolds). The seat tube decal suggests 80-83?

Very nice Trek 720 Touring bike (long chainstay model)
I think it is an '85, but not sure.
I'd keep this one forever, but it's just a tad big at 56cm.

Wow. Normally not a fan, but for $300, how can one go wrong?

^^^ I can't believe it's still up for sale in Chicago. Winter? Parts alone must be worth the asking price.

Very nice PX10 in not-your-usual color (this one's blue, most I see are white) with not-your-usual decals. Low starting bid, no reserve.
If it was my size, I'd want it.

A year ago, a 1972 Nishiki Safari came up on eBay and was parallel posted on Portland, Oregon Craigslist. Before that, I hadn't heard of that particular model. I talked to the owner and went to see it in person. It had these exact panniers. The bike, although touted a "real touring rig" didn't really do it for me and seemed more like a boat anchor with a lackluster component set. It seemed to have roughed out an idea of what a touring bike should be but was clearly a precursor to before the Japanese really perfected touring bikes in the 80's. Either way, these were the panniers on it. For more info, see the Bicycling Magazine review of that model here.

Not the stock bar and stem, but perhaps cheap and clean enough not to matter. Looks to be from 1981 ( Schwinn catalogs, 1981 - 1990 (7 of 456) )
[h=2]Schwinn Super Sport Touring Bike (with high handlebars) - $150 (Maple Grove, MN)[/h]Schwinn Super Sport Touring Bike (with high handlebars)
Schwinn Super Sport 23" Touring Bike that I converted over to high (mountain bike like) handlebars. The bike was purchased new in 1983 and converted around 2000 (I no longer have the original handlebars). The bike is in very good condition and has a speedometer and a like new Milano cushioned split saddle. The bike also comes with a resistance trainer that perfectly fists this frame. The trainer shows some oxidation, but it works perfectly.
The Schwinn Super Sport has a very light frame and is a pleasure to ride (especially being able to sit up higher with the converted handlebars). I've included a picture of how the bike looked before I had the handlebars changed.

I think you're right. Here's a link to the shop that sold the bike. They don't mention it being repainted but they do say they reproduced the bike shop decal. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...9483850&type=3

PX10 with Columbus tubing! What a rare bird. It's my size so I'm actually mildly tempted. How accurate (or not) is the following claim?
STUCK SEATPOST! but it is an aluminum one, so should be easy to remove.

I don't think it's a very accurate claim. It may be 'fairly' easy to remove with a little soaking in something like Kroil or you may have to destroy the post to remove it. With stuck post and no seat it's way too expensive IMO.

Price might be fair if the post wasn't stuck. As is, I'd have trouble going much over 150, and then only if I wanted the bike bad.

Missing some pieces, but all the big-ticket items are present. Seller doesn't state what thread, but likely easy enough to find out:

Isn't the chrome one a Voyageur? Good quality, Japanese-built Schwinn (Miyata?). Given the backwards front QR and the ratty tape and saddle, I suspect someone could get this very cheap. It only looks neglected, not mistreated. (This post refers to the Schwinn from Phoenix CL on the preceding page of postings.)
